newbie to slimming world

Hi everybody my name is michelle im 28yrs old and mum to 2 boys (2yrs 11mths and 4mths) i joined slimming world approx 4yrs ago losing 11lb which i was really pleased with, i left the group which i regret doin.
i am now doing slimming world again and because i cant really afford to go to classes at the mo as all spare money is being spent on xmas, so im trying to attempt this myself as i found it easy last time, altho to be completely honest i cant seem to make head nor tail of it lol, ie which book do i follow food optimising or the directory as it may say one thing in 1 and another in the other 1, im so determined to loose a few lbs but getting really stressed and annalising everything i do and eat lol.
any help advice to put me on the right track would be great thankyou xx
 
Hi Chelly, welcome to the forum and back to slimming world! The latest food directory and the food optimising book should say the same thing, though if your reading the red and green days one and want to do the extra easy plan then the lowest syn value for meal/things is the green syn value.
I may be worth looking online to see if you can get a hold of the latest books, but even if you have the older set the things they say should coinside with eachother. Hope this helps.

Hiya Ruth thanku for that :) I've been doing it this week but not sure if I've been doin it right lol, I've been doing the green days as that's what I did before and found easier, but I'm really struggling for meals and what I can use. I've been and brought quorn mince chicken fillets and chicken pieces as it says quorn is free r all these free? Also if I use my h/e ie bread milk cheese and I want a bit more can I have it and count it as sins? I've also been having fat free activia yogurts I thought they were free but then found them in directory as a sin?
I'm really sorry for all the questions as u can prob tell I'm a bit confused lol.
