getting weighed but not knowing result....

Has anyone had a period of time where the still followed plan and went to group, got weighed but had gtheir weight kept a secret from them?

I'm thinking about doing this because I feel I have become too too focussed on the numbers.

Found myself in tears at group last week after a week 100% on plan and a 1lb gain. I know these things happen and its nothing to cry about. But I was gutted.

Any thoughts gratefully received, thanks x

If you don't find out your weight, how are you going to know how you're doing?

You got upset because you had a tiny 1lb gain. Are you saying you don't want to know this? That means you could be doing the plan completely wrong, gaining every week, and not knowing about it?

I'm a bit confused with the question.

xx

I do know of someone who was told what she has lost or gained, but asked not to be told her starting weight, nor her actual weight each week. Her consultant was happy to go along with this, but after a while the member decided that she felt ok about knowing her actual weight.

Whatever you want to do, talk to your consultant about it. There's not a lot that consultants haven't heard before!

I think as long as you give your consultant permission to contact you if you have a gain to make sure its not cos you were off plan i don't think it would be an issue.

I personally like to know how i'm doing, but if you are the kind of person who obsesses over the scales, and falls to pieces over a 1lb gain, then i can see this makes sense.

Or, maybe u could ask your consultant to tell you your monthly weight loss? If you lost 7lbs in a month, you'd probably be happy, whereas if it was 3lb, 2lb, 1lb gain, 3lb you'd be focusing on that gain, even though you'd still lost 1/2 a stone!

Hi kerry, when I used to attend class, the scales were my enemy! I decided, with the permission of my consultant, to be weighed weekly, but only be told once a month in class, the results! I guess it kept me on the straight and narrow, as I wasn't getting disheartened with my weigh ins on a weekly basis. I say, if you think it would give you a better relationship with the scales, go for it!!
