Time of the month!

Hi, am having a really horrible time of the month and put 1lb on this week :(
Does anyone else find this has an effect on weight loss and appetite?

Meeee! Argh the week before is rubbish and I get savoury cravings and retain water.. then during I just want chocolate and fruit but I do lose weight a bit quicker. I get low pp treats in and soup, go for walks(that eases the pain too) and track every morsel of food. Hang in there!

Yes! all I want is food I get weighed we essay and I'm due on and have been so hungry and eating sweet things, I've used 19 of my weeklies ;( so not holding out hope

I have the same problem as you ladies... my time of the month has lasted two weeks so far and its completely messed up my eating habits.

Its horrible and you always feel like you have failed. I have tried being positive this time and bought in loads of the ww chocolate snacks so if i do crave chocolate, i can minimise the damage as much as possible.

Oh I suffer terrible and I just want to eat everything in site! Its my star week now and weigh in in morn so not holding out much hope for a loss! x

same as that ladies... i always have the munchies that week and its not that im hungry or anything, i just crave bad things... :( and then when i eat them i feel so bad and guilty and down on myself..

Normally i either STS or put on a lb or 2 but then the week after i usually have a good loss of about 2 or 3 so that keeps me going knowing i have that week to look forward to! :D

what us women have to suffer through eh..... ;)

Sing it sisters... Week before I'm a crisp loving, bread scoffing machine! Then during I have very little interest in food at all! Def sts or small gain wk before but usually pull that back.
Read a very good tip here...can't remember who posted so if anyone is reading and it's theirs- thank you!
Basically the tip is to look at the weight loss over a 4 wk period, this allows for the little fluctuations wk to wk...I generally see a loss from one 4 wk group to the next even if it's just a pound...

That's a great way if looking at it cause the last few months I've been up and down like a yoyo but when I looked at the 4 week thing I actually have lost weight! Gave me a boost seeing that so thank you! :)

Can't take the credit for it :) but I thought it was brilliant too! Def gave me a little motivation when I first read it, happy to pass it on!

i tend to find i put on the week before or have a small loss the week before but during the actual week i'm on i'm ok, it might be another small loss but any loss is good with me.

as others have said above i tend to look at how much i've lost over 4 weeks and not just 1 as our bodies are always changing and you could weigh at group when you get there and when you leave an hour later (if you've stayed for meeting) and you could have a different weight both times! lol. ... also just eating something heavy for tea the night before WI (or during the day if you weigh in the evening) could make a difference on the scales where as overall during the week you have lost and it just takes till the next day (so the next weeks WI) to show the loss on the scales!

as for appetite i try to stock my cupboard with fruit and my fridge with veg and Low PP chocolate snacks ... so if i'm hungry can have loads of veg with a meal and fruit for dessert and snacks but if i have the chocolate craving then i have some there that are 2 or 3 pp's so will kill the craving but not the diet :)
.... and again i tend to crave the week before, then lose my appetite during, then want to eat everything in sight the week after, lol :D

hehe...think it was me that said that to Sarah. Glad to know I'm of some use.

As for Star week I'm usually hungrier the week before but it doesn't seem to show in my weigh-ins! I try to make no point vegetable soup and eat extra fruit and free stuff. I'm just generally nibbly. xx

:) great advice! Really made sense and gave me a boost...
I'm a grazer myself- I'd eat little and often all day if I could! Have lost my mojo somewhat these past few wks...know whats wrong...stress at work making wrong food choices...need to prepare for wk better.
Onwards and Downwards! Xx
