If you look in the stickies at the hip of the threads page you'll find a heap of info for new starters it tells you practically everything to get you started

Bug if that doesn't help then ask away - on here no question is too stupid :) and somebody somewhere will know tbd answer

I use myfitnesspal.com to count cals which I find very helpful. I also tend to eat some tesco light choices meals all under 400 cals

In myfitnesspal (mfp) you can also add in your own recipes, so it works it out for you :)

Do you live at home? If you do and your parent cooks lunch/dinner you can ask them to use fry light which is a spray oil for cooking with.

Try and follow the rules, in the stickies at the top :)

Try joining an exercise class, Zumba is good, and is fun! Generally lots of classes around, and normally about £5 a class. Also loads of different body shapes go to the classes! I do and I am 14st ish

Good luck, and we are here to talk to!
