Sieved cottage cheese?!?

I will do this!!!
So there's a recipe that asks for sieved cottage cheese! how do you sieve cottage cheese? would it just be the watery stuff or does the recipe me for me to mash it through the sieve? so confused!
 
I guess the idea is to pass it through a seive and then it is a smooth mixture, I may be wrong but just an idea.

2 large smoked trout fillets roughly chopped
12oz low fat cottage cheese, sieved
1 level tsp grated horseradish (dont have any so im missing this out!)
1 tbsp lemon juice

Place trout, cottage cheese, horseradish and lemon juice in blender and process till smooth. Season to taste, place in dish and chill for min 2 hrs.

Free on red and EE
 
Smoked trout is free but why is smoked mackerel not free?
