Feeling a bit disappointed!

Hi Gang, I'm feeling a bit disappointed this week, I'm at the end of wk 2 and only lost 2 lbs! I had my heart set on 4 pounds to make it my first stone. I know it's still a loss and feel much better already for losing 12lbs but thought wk 2 I would have dropped a bit more weight.
I have picked a couple of times on chicken and ham, do you think this could be the reason?
Also when can you start eating the bars ...... Anyone recommend which ones to try?
Hope u all have a grt week

12lb is a good weight loss in two weeks and it is possible that snacking on chicken and more so the ham because of the salt content that you have retained water...it does not take much to upset the balance of a vlcd.

Whilst you did not get your stone off this week if you can remain on track for next week you will surely have your first stone off and perhaps a few more pounds along with it.

Normally it is best to leave the bars for two weeks at least.

I liked all the bars, probably the peanut was my favourite.

Well done on your weight loss:happy096:

Thanks Mini, think I will try another week on SS but may have to consider SS + coz finding night times hard. I just want to eat something when I get home from work. I will chat with my cd consultant to try and over come but still want quick results. Hope u have a good week, thanks again

Your results are really good for 2 weeks on SS!

I know what you mean about the whole wanting to eat when you get in from work, thats one thing that I am really struggling with. Infact its been that hard to resist eating that I've been going to bed at 19:30!! How sad is that!

I'm starting to think that some of us just aren't cut out for SS.........we need to chew! lol :D

Hi
I'm on Exante which is pretty much the same as Cambridge (I did Cambridge for 10 months in 2006/7 though). I also lost 12lb in the first 2 weeks - not many diets where you can lose practically a stone in a fortnight!

Your body will settle down and lose fat at a rate that is personal to YOU. This isn't a race against anyone else and believe me when I say you will not get comparable results on any other diet. You can't lose weight at a faster rate than a VLCD so stick with it and have faith ... you'll achieve that stone a month (or thereabouts) so will see results very quickly.

As for the bars - on Exante you start on the bars from day 1 and as you can see, it's had little or no effect on my losses so I wouldn't worry about when you start the bars - if you need to chew, start the bars because that's preferable to losing the plot and chewing on something else which could trash your diet.

If, ultimately, you decide SS isn't for you then there's no shame in moving up a stage to the 810 plan. Some people just need that small meal each day to feel human. It's barely outside of the threshold for a VLCD (which is 800 cals) so you'll still experience great losses.

Good luck - and WELL DONE on the 12lb loss!! :)

Thanks for your support both, get weighed again tomorrow but don't feel any different this week, would love to wake up tomorrow and get a nice surprise. I seem to need food on occasions so just have a small salad and some protein, better to do that than pig out on a bag of chips but I still feel I've blown it every time I eat something!

Good luck and hope you both have a good week xx
