8lbs? 8lbs!!!!!! I could have lost that on slimming world!

Don't think I will see the 15s by Xmas now :(

Gutted but not particularly deterred, however, worried that if temptation arises I may well fall given my crap first loss

Wondering I'd this means subsequent weeks will be less than I thought too?

:(((((

Reading this is exactly as I remember a post from myself 2 years ago!! When I started CD in Jan 2009, I also only lost 8lbs in my first week and was really gutted! But I kept going and I lost 5.5 stone in total and it came off steadily at 3 or 4lb a week most weeks.

You may have another good loss next week to make up for it, so stick with it.

Did you weigh at the same time of day both times, had you had your packs and/or any water? xx

I last had water about 5 and got weight at 6.15

I hope so I'm so angry! My greedy pig of a mate dis it, got smashed on sat night, had a kebab and lost 15lbs!!!

I did lighter life 3 yes ago and did a stone in the first week and it made me go off with a flying start but I feel crap this time

****y diet!!!

Suppose it's my own fault for getting so fat on the first place eh!

Don't think it helps I started at 17st13lbs cause ive not droppe into a new stone bracket in first week either, I think that eggs u on seeing numbers you haven't seen in a while!

So annoying too for me because I got married at 15 stone in June and piled it on on a 4 week all inclusive moon in Aruba and js carried it on so I've got 3 stone to shift before I'm back to what I feel is ye beginning of my battle fro
15 to 11!

Yep, I also lost a stone in my first week when I first did CD, so was gutted with the 8lb loss. To be honest, if your friend has already cheated, they don't have the greatest chance of finishing their journey.. you need willpower on this diet and to make the right choices. I have every faith in you, but none in your friend ;)

Hang in there, it will get better!

I'm gonna give it another week an if it isn't a good loss the toys are going out of the pram!

Thanks for your faith :)

i think i've seen from peoples' stats that if you have an amazing first week you're less likely to have a good next couple of weeks, whereas a less good first week means you're more likely to have good weeks for the rest of the month.
also, i reckon anything over 7lbs is ace any week!

The first week does not dictate how the following weeks will go.

I have seen many start off with a lowish first week who have then gone on to do very well as time goes on.

Guidelines are for a stone a month weight loss on a vlcd and I would be very surprised if you don't follow that rule especially with your height.

Try not to compare yourself with others as we are all unique and we all settle into our own patterns.

It is very easy to talk yourself out of doing a vlcd as it is a tough diet but even tougher to try and get back on it once your break it and no other diet can give you the same quick results at the end of the day.

Following the rules is the best protection of staying on the diet and doing well.

The first week is the hardest and you have lost over half a stone already, well done:happy096:

That's just stopped me going to my mums for a full fat milky tea with sugar and one of her legendary cup cakes to cry!!

:D you know that sometimes your body defies you too. you work hard and you feel you deserve more but your body says stuff you! it holds on to extra water as it's lost to know what's happening. then...... whoosh.... you have a loss and it starts really coming off!

then you know the 'whoosh fairy' has been. :D

in the same breath... don't ever be worried if you get a stall for a week or two even. this happened to me. i had 2 weeks with no losses. i upped my plan and whoosh 8lbs in that week.

our bodies are miracles and there's just no rule book that they know of.

Mini is right the first week s loss does not dictate losses going forward if you stick to plan. Ask yourself do you really want to undo the effort you have put in or a week by having your mum's cake (despite how delicious!)? I've been doing TNT on and off and CD for a year!! Only o find I am back at square one and some more.

Don't get disheartened, I know it is a b****r to think one could've lost the same amount without the agony of doing SS! It's hard!! You can do it!

i lost 5.5lbs week one, being 100% on ss, and much heavier than you.

low week one losses happen in people who don't have much glycogen stored, and so have little water weight to drop. it doesn't mean you have lost less fat than everyone else.

this diet is extreme and is hassle and is expensive. but you chose it. if sw or ww worked for you, you would be doing them.

in 14 weeks i've lost 4 stone. despite a low week one loss and a couple of slow weeks, i've been 100% and now i'm 4 stone down. and that could be you. but i tell you who it couldn't be - it couldn't be someone on ww or sw.

chin up. :)

My awful first week loss too!

Hello, I am on day 9 of Cambridge and stuck to the diet 100% in week 1 and lost only 7lbs!! I am so disppointed!! My friend who is male and 5.10" started at 13.4 and lost a whopping 12lbs!! I am so pleased and proud of him but I am gutted that I put so much effort in and got noehere near the results that I am after! I have not been put off...I am powering through!! It is SO much easier in week 2!! xx

Don't compare yourself to your friend....men always loose weight quicker.....I think half a stone in a week is amazing! And just think....everything that is coming off now is fat...just watch those inches melt away! X

I am on day 9 of Cambride and have stuck to the diet 100%. I lost 7lbs. Not the results I was after considering my male friend who is 5.10" weighed in at just 13.4 and then lost a whopping 12lbs!! I know what you are feeling and you need to stick at it!! I want to lose 5stone! I have lost 22lbs so far over the last year. Part Slimmind world, part Cambridge and part excercise. I have had 2 months off and gained 5lb so have decided that once and for all I will reach my goal!!! xx
