Favourite porridge?

Honeyoc

Is a crunchy mama!
What's everyone's favourite brand of porridge? I wonder if it makes a difference to the end result...

mines plain oat so simple, quick and easy.

AnnaFaraday is Scots Old Fashioned a brand?

Ooh just googled it, looks good! It's in my virtual shopping basket :D

is scotts just named as 28g porridge oats in the food diary online?

Scott's for me too, made in a pan on the hob, 40g (hexb and 2 syns) with 250ml milk (hexa) and 25ml water. Normally mix through lots of cinnamon and a whole grated Apple, yum, yum, yum!

I assume we're all remembering that the current rules state that porridge oats need to include a oat/scan bran for it to technically be a HeB...

I have the sachets too. It's just quicker in the morning but I do prefer the real oats. They are more creamy and better texture. I have a small dollop of syrup with mine.

And no I don't have a scan bran with mine but still count it as a hex. Doesn't do me any harm.

Scots Old Fashioned. Much much cheaper than anything in a sachet. And a better texture, too.

Me too, I love Scotts, made with water & add cinamon & apple to it, yummmmmmmmmmmmy:D

Another one for Scott's. Delicious! :)

Okay got a pack of Scott's! Looking forward to tomorrow's breakfast! Now that it's getting cold I've been fantasising about porridge :D

I know what you mean, I do think it's the ultimate cold weather breakfast. In the week I had it with frozen mixed berries and a tbsp of golden syrup (2 syns). It felt so luxurious!

I buy supermarket own brand oats. Pop 28g in a bowl (always weigh) cover with so milk & microwave for 2 mins. I've had this breakfast everyday for the best part of a year and I've never had the ryvita or scan bran!

Supermarket own is less than £1 for a bag and lasts foreverrrrr! Never bothered with oats so simple. I'd only buy them if I knew I'd be without some scales.

I have Tesco finest jumbo oats and I love them! They stay quite whole and chunky.
I don't like cheap oats as they go all mushy, I'm also a fan of Scott's too.

I make it with water and add a crumbled scan bran and a chopped banana.

I love porridge oats :)

I buy Sainsbury's own brand frozen berries they are only £1.07 per pack, much cheaper than other shops.
I get mine from Sainsbury's too - I like the range of choice they have, and the prices are good.
