Please can someone clear something up for me as there's been a few threads but lots of confusion.

Aldi Northern Catch Thai Salmon Fishcakes with Chilli Sauce

- are they free on Red days??? or do i need to have an EE day if eating these.
Also are they free or 2 syns???

if someone has the free branded food book please check for me - i only joined 8 wk ago and these books are no longer available. Im sure i saw them in the groups copy the other day!

Someones answered this for me - they are FREE (inc sauce) on a red or EE day x

mmmm.... just looked up in my free branded foods book and THEY aRe free on greEN and EE - yum - sOunds goOd.
apologies for random capital letters have split coffee on keyboard and playing up.
let me know your thoughts if yOU try them, they sound quIte Nice x

I'm sure I was confused about these as when I went into Aldi they only had them frozen and not chilled and the branded food directory says chilled.

now I understand why gottasleepnow has got confused. Where did you get this information from teen? as the branded free books clearly state 0 syns on EE and Original:confused:

PS using OH laptop now! x

That's what it says on Syns Online. I'd trust Syns Online over the Food Directory as recipes change all the time and the directory is out of date almost as soon as its written whereas syns online is updated regularly.

To confirm:

Northern Catch Thai Salmon Fishcakes with Chilli Sauce, 360g pack, chilled, 180g serving 1 1

I wouldn't worry too much, 1 syn's not going to blow the syn bank unless you're thinking of eating ten packets a day :D

best thing to do is run the nutritional information through the syns calculator selecting your free foods (first ingredient listed) and it will give you the accurate syn value and will clear up the confusion :)

Having red day now and just hope not got it wrong as wanted to be super good this week (was confused at how could be free on red as got reconstituted potato in it). think i can still change things so that classed as EE day which may be safer eh!

Red day it is - then i can have another HEX B lol

Hi. Sorry to drag this up again but I have a pack in my freezer which I was going to use.

I checked today and the syn value is now 3 on an EE. This says per 180g serving. The pack is 360g. So am I right in thinking that these are now 6syns for the pack?!

Seems a bit steep going from free to 6!

Sorry if I have read it wrong. Only joined Tuesday x

I did the same a couple of weeks ago, quite a shocker, I'm sure most of the syns are in the sweet chilli sauce as 1 tbsp of that alone is 1.5 syns.

Syns directory does say chilled though and sounds like we're all using frozen but I'm sure it doesn't make a difference.

So would you have them without the sauce and deduct the syns? Or is that a no no? I'm not fussed on chilli anyway.

I mean, 6 syns for a meal (if you had with free food) isn't bad I guess. Just a shame it's 6 when at one time it was free?!

X

Have you tried putting the nutritional infomation just from the fish cakes into the syns calculator? That way you would know how many syns came from the sweet chilli sauce.

For future reference the Sainsburys frozen thai fish cakes show up as free on the website and they are delicious.

Thanks Atomic. I will try that.

No sainsburys near us but will keep it in mind. Thank you x

The values on the pack include sauce :( good idea though x
