New to Slimming World

Hi Im new to Slimming World and this is my 2nd Week.

First week I lost 2 1/2 pounds :) and followed the diet religiously. Last week I only lost 1lb and I was really disappointed. I rarely have over 8 syns a day. I don't know whether im not eating enough superfree foods?? Im measuring everything - i'm checking the syns on everything that enters my mouth.

My mum joined weight watchers last week and lost 4lb in her first week - even though she had had a 3 course meal without counting any points. I just feel really disheartened at the moment as I haven't gone over my syn allowance and have kept to the diet, even cooking meals out of the slimming world cook book. It worries me that I only lost 1lb last week and this weekend im going out for a meal so feel like i'll put on next week.

I have re-joined Zumba and went on Tuesday night and I am going again on Friday. I am going to ensure that I start going twice a week but im worried in case this also slows down my weight loss as muscle weighs heavier than fat.

what plan are you doing ?

Hi - I'm on week 3 of Slimming World.

week 1: -0.5lb
week 2: -0.5 lb
week 3: +2.0 lbs

Just goes to show that everyone loses weight differently. I struggle to use all of my syns (oddly) - maybe once I'm getting better aquainted with what I can and can't have, I'll be able to use them all up.

I didn't join a class - just doing it myself with the Slimming World pack which I bought on ebay

I think I put weight on this week because I just started (well, last weekend) using HRT patches......damn things! Happened before when I used them and put on 7lbs!! Whipped them off :D

Hi Conno,
welcome to the forum and SW

first things first 3.5 lb loss in 2 weeks is great! you shouldn't be disappointed, its going in the right direction, you can't compare your loss with anyone else either on SW or on WW cos we all lose weight at different rates,

how about posting a food diary on here so people can constructively advised on where you might change stuff? I would say most people who say they're having slow losses generally aren't eating enough free and superfree, also don't feel like you have to restrict your syns they're an important part of the plan they bring synergy to the rest of the foods,

as for muscle weighing heavier than fat, sorry but a pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat, the only thing about exercise is if you don't drink enough water and stuff you may retain some fluid when exercising, if you're exercising I would say take some measurements too cos sometimes you see it better in inches rather than pounds and its a great motivator

try not to be so disheartened, you're doing great so far keep at it and the pounds will come off

good luck and keep going xx
