How low can you go?

I tried slimming world about a year ago but fell off the bandwagon, I found EE very difficult however my friend is going and Im thinking of joining and going back to Original/Green.

But how low can you go?? I dont want to be dangerously low but can I get from under 11st to 9.5 ? Or does it not really work on those numbers? My friend doesnt seem to think so.

Can see that your 144lb which is 10st 2lb - so your not remotely overweight with a BMI of 24.7
Slimming world works for everyone, although you may need to be carefully with the amount of syns.
That said the SW state, that you must want to loose a minimum of 7lbs to join.
So that would take you to 137lb (9 stone 11lbs) - BMI = 23.5

But if thats what you want to aim for - yes SLIMMING WORLD WILL WORK FOR YOU! and you can support you friend along her journey too :)

I am 5ft 6ins and was 11st 12.5lbs when I started and my target is 9st 6lbs and I'm 5.5lbs away from achieving it.

Yes, Slimming World works even if you don't have much to lose, otherwise no one would ever get to target, lol :) SW allow you to set target right down to a BMI of 20, if you want to go that low.

Just don't expect to lose quickly, and you'll be fine. Enjoy the plan!

I started sw at 10st 13lb and set my target at 9st tho im thinking now 8st 13lb just so i can have an even 2st loss,.

I joined in june and am 6lb from target now :)

Hi, i started slimming world at 9stone 7 and i am now maintaing at 8stone. Iv never had any problems loosing the weight. I know i wasnt hugely over weight, but i no longer felt comfortable in my clothes, whenever i went to class i got comments like 'she doesnt need to be here' etc.
i think slimming world places too much emphasis on numbers. Your weight should be whatever you feel healthy, happy and at your best at.
If you just want to loose a stone then go for it, it can be done!!!

Interesting... I get that now and I'm not at at target. I know I should be happy but it bothers me. I don't think it matters how much weight you have to lose it's how you feel. I've got 5.5lb to get target and I'm not sure if I'll want to lose a few more when I get there.

I know what I look like in my underwear and in not happy just yet!!!

Im in the same boat as you, a lot of people also said i didnt need to lose weight, but i didnt feel happy or healthy, im 6 1/2 lb from target, and people keep telling me ive lost enough now and not to go any further.......... I wonder if it were roles reversed how would they feel and just how much they would want to reach their target for themselves! Ooooooohhhhh they make me boil!!!

But other people don't know all the facts. I was discussing my weight with my mum a couple of weeks ago and said I wanted to lose about another 7lbs. She asked what I weigh and I told her, hovering on the 10 stone mark. She said I don't look 10 stone. And I know I don't. But I am. And I do feel I have more to lose. My stomach is still a little flabby. I could do with losing some more over my hips etc etc. For myself.

Plus it's nice to set and reach a target (not that I know cos I've never reached one lol). I lost a lot of weight rather quickly, then struggled to lose the last few lbs and sort of "settled" at just over 10 stone for well over a year before I got complacent and my weight started creeping up again. I have recently got back in the zone to finish what I started.

And I will finish when I decide to finish.

I don't attend group (I live in France) but those who do should be inspiration to others, not criticised for being there.

I couldnt agree more! Ive stopped going to group now as i felt unconfortable being one of the slimmest there, one woman was at target and still heavier than me, which kinda made me feel guilty about wanting to reach my target, but it is all about how comfortable we are in our own skin,
And im sooo much happier and content with my size than i was 4 months ago, ive still a few miles of my journey to go, but im determined to get there and stay there!!!! X
