I folks,

I'm debating ordering another months worth of the Exante TS (shakes only) and I'm wondering is it really important to have the suggested week off or can I just carry on without having the break?

I'm really enjoying the weight loss and at the current rate I'm loosing the weight I will be at MY personal ideal after a further month.

Any advice will be great.

Thanks guys

Tom

HI Tom The jury is out on adding a meal - generally I have not in the past eight months. But I have and still do add a meal when I need to socially and for work functions. Otherwise I have done TS for eight + months. The advice is probably based on the NICE Guidelines which suggest VLCD should only be followed for 12 weeks. In fact there is currently no published research evidence to suggest that any harm occurs if you follow the diet for longer than 12 weeks. The other side of the argument relates to weight loss plateau - sometimes after a prolonged period following a VLCD the body can go into what is called 'starvation mode' - conserve the calories and weight loss stalls. So then the advice is to increase the calories.
Exante advises add a meal for a week every four weeks, they are naturally playing safe - but some do and some don't - so its up to you. Whatever you do make the diet work for you, if you feel well its probably fine - but learn to listen and take notice of your body. And good luck

Totally agree with GSQ, Exante are playing safe and looking after their costumers by doing an AAM week after 4 weeks. Some of us that are doing Exante don't always need to lose a massive amount, so after 4 weeks they may be fairly near their goal weight so AAM week works for them, but then some of us need to lose a lot more and don't necessarily need to do an AAM week after 4 weeks, for example The Cambridge Diet (Im an ex CD'er) recommends 12 weeks if there is a lot of weight to lose, and even then its not about adding a meal every single night from then on out, it can be one/two meals a week and then slowly increased.

Do what you feel is right for you x

Thanks GSQ.

What a fantastic reply. I really appreciate it.

I'm seriously considering doing another four weeks. I'm actually really enjoying it (I never thought I would be saying that).

I'll let you know if I order (although I'm 80% sure I will).

Thanks again

Tom
