Snacks Having a Halloween Party need ideas to stay to plan

We are having another Halloween Party this year, last year was a Slimming World nightmare syns adding up everywhere... This year I want to make this a Slimming World breeze so any ideas for finger food and treats would be very well appreciated :)

There are loads of threads about buffet and party and taster session foods so I would try doing a search - sure to be loads of inspiration

Enjoy your party!

Depends how much work you want to be doing, and is it adults? Adults and kids? Or kids? The meer thought of entertaining people brings me out in hives!

To keep it simple I would make a syns free chilli, jacket spuds. Hot dogs and rolls ( not for you) for everyone to help themselves.

And for you I would pre cook a big tray of chicken drumsticks, other people may want some too? So they can just be picked at.
Bowl of salad.
My Cucumber cups (recipe section) were easy and free.

Fruit salad,or just fruit bowl of hand fruit for people to grab.

Then if there's kids, the odd Halloween cake to be avoided ;)

Try these...................

Pete’s Pukka Pakoras

Ingredients

1 Red Onion, finely chopped
1 Egg
125g Instant Mash
½ cup frozen peas
1tsp turmeric
1tsp chilli powder
1tsp garam masala
1tsp cumin
2tbsp hot curry powder

Method

Pre heat the oven to 200°C/Gas 6.
Tip 125g of Instant Mash into a mixing bowl, add the spices, egg & mix together, season with salt & pepper, add hot water and mix to a slightly loose mix.
Stand for 2 mins add more water if now too stiff.

Line a baking tray/wire rack with baking paper to prevent sticking, using two tablespoons form” small scone” size amounts and place on the tray.

Spray with Fry Light and bake for approximately 15 mins, remove from the oven, turn them over.

Spray again with Fry Light and return to the oven for a further 10-15 mins until browned, remove & leave on a wire rack, allow to cool.

Allow to cool slightly so that the pakoras firm up.

i would go for simple ... so big pot of SW chilli SW curry .. rice , jacket potatos, spicy potato wedges its all winter warming food so doesnt look like your giving everyone diet food.. and then just have a few bowls of nuts and crisps out but keep your hands out of them!!..

For my daughters birthday she wanted a buffet meal so I made several sw friendly things and put them on the table too, they went first  everyone was asking for recipes etc lol. I made a large sw bacon and onion quiche, the hexb pasties that are in the recipe thread, I made the potato, onion and cheese ones and cut them into about 8 pieces each once cold, boiled eggs, homemade coleslaw, pasta salad. gone blank now but there are lots and lots of things you could put on there, argh yes pastrami with a thin layer of philli light and rolled up, same with ham, you can spread philly light on celery sticks too

Defo go for the chilli in jackets-we always do it around bonfire night! Sometimes do sausages in buns for any kids going too. Agree tray of chicken drumsticks is a good one. For picky bits you can make syn free or very low syn crudités and dips, scotch eggs, onion bhajis...and lots more. But people do go for hot food this time of year so you are onto a winner (if its all adults you could do pumpkin soup-yum!) pudding I'm a little stumped on for this but a meringue with raspberries and low syn coulis (nice and red for Halloween) would be a good one! Xx

Thanks all :) plenty of great ideas there thankyou x

Party is for adults and kids so going to be fun x

We have one every year :party0048: I make out the kids want the party but secretly i love it.
We always have 2 x stews on the go a chicken one and a beef one (both free on EE).
Hubby also fires up the BBQ for hot dogs, but ill be staying away from those this year.
To stop there being naughty stuff in the house i ask everyone who's coming to bring a plate of sweet stuff :D
Enjoy your party
