Hi!

Well, a few of you may or may not remember me. I started CD last autumn and was successful on it. To cut a long story short, I fell pregnant and gave birth this summer to baby number three.

A gorgeous surprise we are delighted with, but means I need to get back on the wagon!

I started CD SS on october 9th and have my first official weigh in tomorrow. Starting weight was 16 stone 2 (3lbs less than my previous venture) and am aiming to get down to 11 stone and take it from there.

This journey is particularly poignant as when I was 28 weeks pregnant my dear mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer of the lung, which has spread throughout her body to brain (and is now in adrenal glands and liver). She is battling SO hard and I am so proud of her, but I need every ounce of strength and confidence in myself to deal with this situation. For me, one thing that means is losing weight. So this is a difficult time, an unbelievable difficult time, but am hoping to make something positive from it.

I have started updating my diary again in the diary section.

I also know why people say returning to the diet is hard work - wow, found it much tougher this time! But am determined as ever and sticking to it. Hoping for great results for me and my family :)

Hi Jules
Firstly, congrats on bubba number 3...... That sounds like you have your hands full!!!
It is awful when illness strikes the ones we love most, and you are obviously living a highly immotive time. I wish you all the best in your diet, and know you will succeed, the outcome of losing weight improves so many health benefits. However, go easy on yourself, and we are all here to support you.
And yes, 2nd time round is harder than first....but by day 3 the zone is well and truly hit xxx

im so, so sorry to hear about your mum jules. its such a horrid thing to go through but i think its fantastic that you've managed to find a positive way to deal with things.

im wishing you the very best of luck on your cd journey and dont forget you have all these people here to offload onto if you're ever feeling down

x

welcome back. i remember you. i had my own trying times from september to feb this year, with my own mum. not a death situation but bad enough situation which meant my mum was in emense pain and on morphine and it ended up with a lower leg amputation and loads of hallucinations.

we've got through it and i hope that although you say your mum's cancer it terminal that you get through it all yourself. it's hard when we become the mum's for our mum. the strength we need comes from deep down but it's draining.

hugs!

congrats on ur baby. and very sorry to hear about ur mum. all the best with everything. its a horrible thing to go through :( big hugs and lots of strength sent ur way x

Thank you :)

Have not been on much, but in the first week I lost 10lb and in weigh in this morning after a 5 day week had lost another 3! I have weigh in again this Saturday, so another 5 day week. I have just eaten a little food, but not beating myself up about it. Hoping for another 3lb loss but we shall see!

Mum is pretty pants now... deteriorating quite quickly and not sure how much longer is left. It is heartbreaking to see and I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I just hope I don't pile weight back on when the time does come... I must stick to this, I need to be fit and healthy for my kids and it is vital I feel good in myself to get through what the future holds.

Thanks again!
