been on lipotrim the past 6 months and bizzarrely my weight loss is slowing down dramatically (to just around 1lb a week, despite never ever cheating!!)

I wonder if it's advisable to lose the remainder of the weight I want to lose with an atkins-esque eating plan instead, so I can learn good habits for maintainance (I planned to eat low carb, high fat for life regardless post lipotrim),

and maybe the switch up would help boost my body back into fat burning mode?.. just a thought.

Hi there, congrats on getting 6st off with LT and it's great you're thinking about maintenence. You might need to switch over to Atkins slowly over a week or so as your stomach has shrank. In saying that i think some people switched straight over and had no problems maybe only a slight gain. I think it maybe would boost your losses especially on Induction. Hopefully someone more knowledgable on the subject will come along, good luck!

thanks for your response! yeah I would definately follow the lipotrim 'refeed' week to ween myself back onto food - but instead of reintroducing carbs in the form of potatoes n bread on day 3 I think I would up the fat instead. I am going for my WI @ the pharmacy tomorrow, the results will probably determine if I decide to switch over now or if I decide to wait it out a few more weeks..

I am so excited to eat low carb for life though, it seems like the best n healthiest thing to do for your body - I had never even thought of it before until I started doing some research on nutrition. I literally rolled my eyes when someone mentioned atkins 6 months ago, that was only because I didn't really know or understand anything about it, now I wish I had done my research years ago, I would have probably not have gotten so heavy in the first place, haha.

I know what you mean and when I saw LT refeed sheet I thought 'isn't it a bit daft reintroducing carbs when they're the problem in the first place'? Then I supposed some people don't have probs with carbs but I know I certainly do! I would love to be able to do Atkins or Dr Charles Clarke's plan which is very similar only higher carb (40-60g/day) but I can't seem to keep to any plan right now.

I cannot commend Atkins too highly for maintenance. When you refeed, yes, avoid carbs and just have protein and vegetables, etc. Don't panic if you see a slight regain - this is bound to happen when you first begin to take-in more calories - it will soon settle down.

Well done on having made it this far. I don't think you will ever regret taking-up the Atkins way of eating. Good luck!
