just rang the nearest joes sausages stockists to me and they are putting aside for me so im going up this afternoon to pick my order up..
ive ordered chilli and garlic, cumberland and just normal pork ones

is it so wrong to be excited about somthing like this!!

my saturdays really have changed havnt they !!

i'm totally jealous charleybabes ;) i can't find a single sausage over here (in Germany) which is suitable for SW :( ...they're all far too high in fat and they only seem to have one bl**dy flavour anyway ! LOL

i'm seriously considering taking a freezer box over to England next time we drive over and filling it with sausages...i always wanted to be a sausage smuggler :8855:

Can you give me your opinion on them. I have found the very low fat ones (like bowers and morrisons diet) are like dust. So I tend to spend syns on reduced fat sausages like sainsburys at 2.5 syns each. I would love to try the joes ones - but I am convinced they will taste like dust!! x

Joes are yummy, the chilli and garlic have quite a kick, the sausage meat makes great scotch eggs.

I got some chill garlic grill sticks as well, chopped them up in a batcholers savoury rice golden flavour with added veg. Very filly and tasty.

At the risk of sounding a little silly...what are 'joes sausages?'

I use sainsburys healthy cumberland sausages...1/2syn each on ee and red, 8 for £1.99

I really enjoy them but getting bored of having the same all the time...

Joes sausages are SW friendly they are syn free - I don't live anywhere near a stockist, but you can order them online. getting worried though...... I think the sainsburys cumberland sausages are :yuk:
they taste like dust too!!!!!!

I guess I'd better order some any try it out. I love the idea of making scotch eggs!

well i went and picked them up before from the market.. the garlic and chilli ones smell gorgeous!!..
just got to think what type of meals to put them in now!

The idea of sausages is heaven, so adding anything to them is hurrendous lol x just wish there was a stockist near me.

oo have you got the recipe for the batter mix.. i just love toad in the hole .. hmm real comfort food !!

I am honestly one of the worst cooks the uk has ever seen - but I do a mean toad in the hole!!

weigh out 100g of batter mix (I use saisnburys batter mix for yorkshire pudding and pancakes) this = 12 syns
beat up with 1 egg and 200ml of water until smooth liquid.

heat 1 tablesoon extra virgin olive oil (HEXB) in large dish in oven on about 220.

when oil is hot, take dish out of oven, pour the batter mix in and put your low syn sausages of your choice in at the same time (I use 8 sausages!!).

Open oven in about 30mins and gaze upon your yummy toad in the hole.

this would be enough for 4 people - but me and other half are piggys and scoff the lot!

I like it served with a huge pile of green beans and carrots. Amazing 'diet' food!

I had to explain how lucky I am to my oh the other day because I have 3 butchers near me that sell syn free sausages. 3!!! And some of the flavours are amazing. My favourite is sweet chilli!

Love joe's sausages here but can't justify the postage charges at the mo!! Really wished there was a butcher around me that sold low syn, nice sausages!!

How do you know which ones are syn free (I'm assuming the butcher doesn't label them as such)? I suspect I need to look out for natural casing sausages made from prime cuts (no fat included)? Or is it something else I should look for?

Definitely going to see where joes sausage are stocked in my area too! Really fancy a toad in the hole now!
