A bit low

Right day 10 and I have been 100% but feel like I cant live in the real world. Not eating out or in, not eating with friends or family my life has stopped!!!.

Weekeneds were what I enjoyed most in life, bottle of wine, picky food bit's, x factor etc.

My dilema is that on other diet's you can still have a life and lose weight maybe not as quilckly but nevertheless you can still lose weight.

I can't seem to get my head around this CD at the moment. I am not hungry but rather more fancy things. I also dont feel any slimmer since last week ad it's sooooo getting to me.

Thanks
Desperate Lou xx

Hi Lou

Think of it this way perhaps - this is just a few months 'time out' to get to the weight you want to be.

Food and drink will still be there when you have done your diet :)

Use this time to retrain your brain. You can enjoy your weekends, and time with friends and family, without food being part of the picture :D

I have found it really liberating to take food out of my life - if you had said that to me 10 weeks ago I would have laughed my socks off

Stay strong, visualise where you want to be.......you can do this, you know you can!! :D

SS isn't for everyone, it's true, and CD has some with-food plans which can be very successful (although wouldn't allow you much by way of picky food bits).

All i'll say is have those other diets worked for you? what made you chose cambridge this time? If it's just about the speed, then possibly the sacrifice isn't worth it. For many of us, though, SS works where others don't, precisely because we can't go into the whole business of food. it isn't a normal life, but it's freedom that comes from abstaining from food. and when you know you can't do food at all, then it's much easier for some of us not to cheat.

Thanks girlys. I just feel bored I suppose. Its my TOTM and I feel fat!!! which I suppose is making me want to eat and drink to make me feel better.

I also feel empty not physically but emotionally????

Just had a leek and potatoe soup, will feel better shortly

Can I have vinegar??

Lou xxxxxx

yep vinegar.

pepper, yes. salt no.

:( only have malt vinegar, thought it might help jazz the soup up, what about salt and pepper?? xxxx

Sure it's yes to vinegar as I've used it before on the 810! Check your book.

Hello Loulou, sorry you are feeling so low.

This diet is boring, but it helps to find other things to do.

I am a really social person too and know that I am going to have a quieter life for a few months in the lead up to Christmas and enjoy the party season a few dress sizes smaller.

You have to take this diet day by day, distracting yourself from food as much as possible.

You can do it if you want to, it is only mind over matter. Similar to what a pp said, I find this diet empowering! Look at the will power and how much control you have over your life.

I dont get far on conventional diets and yet have done well on Cambridge so feel quite determined.

Hope you feel better today ?

Mxxxx

I know what you mean i too am on day 10 and it is hard, i just think as above its time out for a few months and in december i will be 2 sizes slimmer and more confident about myself, good luck

Hi Lou, I'm only on day 5 but am loving the "not having to worry about how my diet will fit in with the family meals" bit. They have their meal and I make my shake or soup. (oops didn't know you couldn't have salt and the chicken soup tasted much better with a dash!).

I spent months trying to decide if this was right for me and I believe it will be once I've got my first couple of weeks out of the way. Also, as someone else said it is only for a short time .... I am looking forward to my holiday next year being a few stones lighter and that is worth all this "being good" for just a few months.

I hope you are OK and not beating yourself up too much. Maybe Cambridge isn't for you but only you can make that decision.

I wish you well, take care x
