Ok need some advice guys i didnt have much luck when i was on sedentary and doing my daily school run back n forth which adds up to about an hours walk five days a week. I was adding them cals burnt according to my heart rate monitor on top of my 1200 calories. So someone suggested that because the walk was something i done dailt it would be better to be classed as lightly active and not add the walking and i asked today if because i done a extra twenty min walk shoul i add that because its not part of my routine someone said i dont know why u dont just add the calories burnt on top of lightly active this is all getting confusing lol i was on sedentary because then i could easily work out what i was burning on now i dunno whether to add any spare workouts my cals are no much differeent on sedentary they were 1200 now on lightly active they are 1270 but im burning. Around 250 cals almost in walking a day .... Any thought on this would really help x

If you do something on a daily basis your body will be used to it... so its perhaps worth thinking about cutting down on how many calories of it you eat back? Are you being strict enough with portion sizes? Checking everything you log?

Personally I would be inclined to put sedentary and log anything outside of the norm as extra calories.

So say if i took an extra twenty min walk in the week would i add that ? Or woul that just be classed as the rest of the walking im doing ?

Thing is when i was doing sedentry i was given 1200 to eat and then my walking about 210 extra on top and on lightly active im only given 1270 and losing 210 exercise so im confused

Hi Stacey

Im new to Cal Counting too. I only add on cals that Im doing in excess of my normal activity. I don't use them in food daily either, but I bank them for the weekend and use only half of my cals burned for a take away, or a few glasses of wine and some chocolate.

Compared to any other diet I have done, this is the only one that makes sense and actually works to me. Eat less cals then you do to maintain your weight..and it goes off the scales :). You've lost a bit already, so you are doing something right :) x
