Hi All

I wanted to check whether I can eat the powered shakes dry or should I only mix with water? I love the taste of thte dry shakes and have found myself eating it just like that, but I don't want to damage my chances of loosing weight.

Kind regards

Amber

I don't know the answer but yuk that sounds gross :) I can only assume that you need to drink the same amount of water that you would mix in addition to your normal intake otherwise I can't imagine why not!

agree with the above, as long as you compensate for the extra water can't see why it wouldn't be OK???

that sounds horrible, each to their own so you really are eating dust lol xx

The rest of us prefer wet dust lol. Is it a bit like sherbert, vaguely?

Dust anyone? Ha ha, well, whatever floats your boat.. I guess Cambridge may have something to say about at least mixing it with a small amount of water?

Am just thinking that maybe water allows the nutrients to be released?

Have just done a quick scout on t'internet and from looking at forums regarding eating 'protein shakes' dry, it seems that water is just a means of getting the powder down you more easily ... However, I would imagine that after eating powder, you would want a drink anyway to avoid a chalky mouth, and it will all mix in your stomach anyways...

Still, not really the recommended way of doing this diet..

your digestive system is pretty wet, I can't imagine it would do any harm if you up the water to compensate - each to their own.

This has to be the weirdest question lol!! but i guess you could! I dont see why not! as long as you drink more in the day lol xxx

I would double check the chemistry about this - as someone said above - it may be that water is necessary to release some of the nutrients. Other than that I would have thought it would be fine, with some extra water during the day. I may try the same thing tonight, so thanks for the inspiration!!

Surely being fluid would be easier to pass through and be absorbed? You don want to make yourself constipated. It's a bummer on WI days trust me!!!!!!!!

Sounds lovely..... Whatever does it for you! Don't think its necessarily the case that water is required but you will need to compensate the water intake or else you won't loose. The shakes don't count towards your recommended water intake.......!

Lol ewww are you pulling our legs , why don't you try adding just ice and a tiny tiny bit of water and use a blender tastes like ice-cream better than dust Hun

Sorry - couldn't let that pass... Constipation's a bummer? :8855:

Oh sadly, never a truer word... :D :D

As others have said, each to their own! But do make sure you drink the water you should've used to dilute the shake as well as eating the powder.

Lol pun intended lils!!! I make myself laugh!!! ;)

So how do you eat it dry - with a spoon or a straw? I went through a phase of adding only a tiny bit of water and making it into a paste and pretending it was cake mix - but couldnt imagine just eating powder!!

x

Well I can't see why anybody would want to eat the shakes dry!! Still I love the tomato soup which nearly everybody seems to hate. So each to their own. But I think I'd have a word with your CDC and see what they think. Folk have mentioned about the nutrients. And the digestion could be a problem. What about trying the mousse. I didn't like it much myself but a lot of people seem to like it.
