Toying with the idea of doing CD again!

Hi guys,

I post here every now and then. I have started the Cambridge Diet (and multiple others) a few times before and posted here. I have never gotten through the first few days. I hate milkshakes, even the ones from mcdonalds and burger king and I can stand soups or bars. I am not a sweet kind of person. Every CD product I have ever tried has made me gag. No I'm that fussy with food usually but these products made me gag. I last tried this time last year. Have any new products come out that you think I may do better with?

If I could just drink the water flavourings and have that be nutritionally sound, that would be awesome because I LOVE them. I wish there was a juice.

If nothing new has come out-did anyone have this strong of a reaction to the products? Is there one you found you could just down and be done with it?

Please help! :)

There's a porridge now. The maple and pecan one is vey sweet, but there's two other flavours I haven't tried.

Other thing - have you tried exante? I'm told their shakes are less sweet.

And good luck!

maybe try something like diet chef instead???

seems silly making urself sick...

hope u find something that suits x

I sympathise. I hate any kind of "shake" and the soups are vomit-inducing. The only way I get around CD is to use ice, a straw, and aim straight for the back of the throat. I look at the diet as medicine. Take my medicine 3 times a day... count the days off... As it is I can only tolerate the chocolate shake. It's not an interesting diet, but it's doing me wonders. Your taste buds do change over time, so if you can find a way to get them down for a month or two, you may find your palate adjusts and you find yourself coming around to the products.

I have the exact same problem. I really want to do the diet but all the shakes and soups on Cd and Exante make me gag :( the CDC I saw wouldn't let me just have 3 bars a day either! X

The slim and save diet has food packs. I don't know wht they are like, but I know they do cottage pie and spag bol. Perhaps that might be worth a try. There is a slim and save section on here too x

Thank for all the replies, I think what I'm going to do is buy a few different shake powders then make them up on a normal day. Take the pressure off rather than actually starting cold turkey on one day. Maybe one a day. I only need to find one I like.

I will try choc first since you say this has been easiest for you goodlard and aim for the back of my throat also followed quickly by a glass of water and a breath strip lol. If I can get through the 1st few days and get used to just one flavour then i'll be go to go!

Good plan.

It's not for everyone, but I only have banana tetras. Three a day, everyday! I quite like the routine - and it makes it seem more like medicine, than a varied diet!

i find the tetras easier if you just want to get them down quickly. straw in mouth, squeeze the carton as you suck and it's gone in seconds. you don't even smell them, which probably helps if you don't like the taste.
