Favourite Winter Meals

wants to be skinny ♥
As I'm sat here listening to the rain, it occured me to me it's THAT time of year where I live off of home-made soup. It got me wondering, what are your favourite winter meals and recipes? Maybe this could be stickied for inspiration to others? :)

I've just got a slow cooker and made a gorgeous beef stew this week. I love it at this time of year :)

Mmmm beef stew :) How many ProPoints if you don't mind sharing?

I usually live on homemade vegetable soup in winter, mum always made it when I was a child and it brings back memories of eating it in front of a nice coal fire with thick buttered bread. Yum!

Anyone else?

thanks honey that'd be great! can't wait to make it! love it with a chunk of crusty white bread.. mmmmm yummmmmmy :D x

I know! or dumplings! my nan used to make me these dumping that were just flour and water salt and something else but didnt have a suet or fat in. Must start asking for recipes! lol

One of my faves for the winter is corned beef hash. But my Mum seems to make it differently from how I've ever seen or heard it made before. but it so yummy!

I dont but I'm going to get it off my mum this week when she gets back from holiday :) but i know the way she makes it, it's like a stew with corned beef homemade veg soup and potatos :) Ill get the recipes off her :)

My mum does it like this too- it's beautiful even though I DETEST corned beef :)

Sorry for the late reply....

Mine came to 13 which included a dumpling. But that was my own recipe - there is a WW one that is lower in points, which I'm going to try this week :)

my mum always used to use, tinned carrotts, veg soup, new potatoes (tinend or fresh) and a tin of stew meat. God knows what that comes up to but it was always lush!

What the hell is corned beef hash lol??

Beef stew has to be the winner (and an Irish favourite obviously, I put potatoes into mine ;) ) x

Corned beef hash is basically all your veg thrown in a pan with corned beef either from a packet or a tin, its very yummy!

Sausage casserole! Yum yum yum!
Need to find a good WW recipe one
I don't know if you have tried this but an old ww recipe is one can of oxtail soup and one can of chopped toms makes a perfect sausage casserole, just chuck in mushrooms etc. Great for the slow cook

I adore stirfrys but can get a little tired of them, so I rediscovered Chinese by making lots of clear (miso-type) soups with either asian veg like bok choy or just what ever you like (I usually do carrot, courgette, spring onions, bok choy, baby corn and sometimes broccoli) especially good when you throw in some noodles too. Incredibly filling and versatile as can throw in anything from beef to chicken or seafood. Because I LOVE wontons I found that ones from the freezer section in the supermarket are actually pretty good on points (become steamed not fried wontons) so throw those in there which gives me that deliciously naughty feeling while actually eating well within points :).
