Turkey mince help

I have used turkey mince to cook a shep pie and think I've made a mistake- it's not actually labelled as lean on the pack. I didn't use any fat to cook it with and after browning I drained as much fat as would come out and it ended up quite dry before the tomatoes have gone in. Is this still free or should I slap my wrist and be more careful next time? Thanks!

But not all turkey is extra lean and therefore syn free - I believe there are only a couple of shops that sell it now. Anything else does need to be synned. I think there is thread about it in the syn values forum

It's 2syns per 100g raw- so if you used a whole 500g packet it would be 10syns in total... then spread that around 4 it's 2.5syns per portion.

Thanks everyone for your help, I only went 2 syns over on Friday and more than made up for that yesterday . Still learning but getting there x

sainsbury's do extra lean turkey breast mince which according to the slimming world mag is the only turkey mince which is free on SW.

Good luck xx
