Lou I have had a look and you were so helpful with me x

My only comment is too many bananas no matter what diet I have followed calorie counting WW low carb etc they all say only 1 banana every other day as they are so calorie dense

An average banana is 100 - 150 calories or more so that is 5 or 7 syns if synning and they are dense and yes they can affect weight loss. I have cut them out again and try to eat more melons, berries, pears and grapes.

I dont eat apples due to my IBS. I reckon you are eating 400 cals a day just in bananas if you are having three a day and I know SW doesnt calorie count but for that amount you could have at least 10 pieces of other fruit/berries

apart from the wine and cheese spread episode *giggles* you definitely need more daily syns lady !!! you do need them for optimum loss hun

thanks guys :) i didnt eat my limit of syns as i didnt feel i needed them to be honest the one day i was hungry i had 11 syns, so i wouldnt deprive myself i just made my first choices of snacks and meals super free or free and it worked. i had about 65 syns with my new calculation of wine which isnt too few i dont think thats still an average of about 9.5 per day, but i know what your sayin as i remember years ago only having about 20 syns all week and i didnt lose !!!! so had a blow out and the next week had a great loss i think your body needs a bit of something to burn off so i will keep my eye on this for sure.

im cutting down on the bananas, to be honest after im eating them im getting tummy cramps (also an ibs sufferer) so i think they arent agreeing with me anyway. i am currently laod on the sofa with a hot drink cuddling a pillow as i have such hurrendous period pains so i thikn this is probably the main culprit. thankyou so much for looking at my diary, have i been having enough super free do you think?

I dont know about super free as I dont do EE as it confuses me too much and without seeing your portion size it is difficult to tell but you seem to be getting a mix of veg maybe try some super speedy melon or the super speedy bean soup as I also had that a couple of times last week and that is super free super speedy and super tasty ! Just not on red

When you say apricots are those fresh because dried ones are either a HEX or synned

they were tinned? are they syns?? not too worried if they are tbh cos it was weigh day and i normally have a right pig out but that was tame compared to usual hahaha, i didnt eat the whole tin i just put them in a casserole with all the other ingredients and the chicken and fish out 2 of the chicken breasts and spooned some sauce over my pasta. i made a bean and chicken stew type thing earlier on in the week and had this a couple of times as i find i cant eat the super speed soup alot as i end up with massive tummy cramps, does it not affect you like that with having ibs? ill have to experiment with more fruit though, i never buy melon, ill put it on this weeks shop, thanks x

yes cooked canned or dried fruit count as HEX or synned sorry
apricots canned in natural juice 2 halves is 0.5
or in syrup 2 halves is 1.5
so not a deal breaker

I am fine with the soup but being pesce (non meat eater) means I eat beans, lentils etc quite a bit anyway.

It is apples that usually get me doubled up.

I do however take fybogel and buscopan daily on presciption so that helps a lot. I only developed it after I got endometriosis.

Super Speed fruit
is all melons except for water melon
blackberries
blackcurrants
grapefruit
strawberries

and a few others I wouldnt eat but they are the easy ones to get hold of

Lou - just doing a quick post to get me subscribed. Just off out but saw your post on the tortoise thread so will come back and catch up later.
:bighug: chica, see you later

they were in juice the apricots and i only had 1 half on my plate as i think my son and hubby got them all hahaha, so not too bothered about that, ill just have to watch that next time. i often buy the frozen bags of mixed berries from tesco they have about 7 different berries in and all speed foods, so ill have to get into eating these again, i put them in my porridge this morning in place of my banana, i dont eat apples i like nectarines and satsumas they are my favourite. oh and pineapple mmmm. but expensive so i tend to stick to bananas cos i can get about 8 for £1.20. but no good if they are stopping me losing weight!! i think i just need to cut out snacking tbh, i will sit on a night and eat loads if the mood takes me and im trying desperately to break the habit.

Hi Lou

Right - been all through your posts and here are a few suggestion.

Bananas - not only are they high in calories but high in potassium.
And something in the back of my brain tells me that like salt (sodium) it makes you hang onto water - and therefore weight.
1 a day is the maximum I would try to stick to.

The rest of your food looks good, though like Latte said without seeing your actual portion sizes/quantities it's a bit difficult to judge. No nasties like chocholate and cakes creeping in.

What you aren't posting on here is how much liquid you are drinking. There needs to be 2 litres a day going in. I get fed up of plain water so drink it with NAS squash (No Added Sugar). So long as it's less than 10 cal per portion it's free.

Try to avoid caffeine rich fizzy drinks like coke as they make you hang onto water big time.

However, two of your meals really stand out to me as perhaps being a bit on the large side!
tea: chicken, potatoes, 1 tin of mixed bean salad, 1 tin of chick peas, 1 tin of chopped tomatoes with garlic, half a cauliflower, carrots, 4 parsnips, mushrooms, mixed herbs, ground corriander, garam masala, cumin, salt, pepper, chilli powder, rice
Depending on how much chicken there was, the rest of the ingredients are what I would use for both me and hubby.

If I had half a cauli on it's own I wouldn't have room for anything else.

Did you really have potatos and rice at the same meal? Or is this a typo?
If you had both then that's not a good idea. Two types of high value carbs together really isn't strictly according to plan. You're only supposed to choose one.
tea: 2 chicken breasts, stir fry veg, 7 spice and soy sauce
Deffo would only do 2 chicken breasts for the 2 of us.

Other than these though it looks good, although you may well not be having enough superfree on your EE days. Again because I can't see the portion sizes.

One third of the plate should really be superfree. It can be a "theoretical" plate as I invariable have loads of superfree fruit (melon & berries are my fave) after my meat & veg. But remember they should fit on an imaginary plate. Not a good idea to load a plate full and then also have a huge mound of fruit as well.

Just watch your portion size is all I would say.

Hope this helps chica.

hi pomette thanks alot hun, i really struggle with portion control, especially on ee. i had 2 chicken breasts as they were small and it was a red day so i was told can have as much chicken as you like on a red day :/ also the meal with all the veg etc i made it as a stew, like the speed soup and just chucked every veg i could find into it, i didnt eat it all in one go lol, i had just a small bowl as was full, i made it a bit like a curry with the spices i put in so did rice with it so maybe that was a mistake as i did put potatoes in it too, i only had 2 small bowls of it then threw the rest away as i didnt have any spare plastic containers to freeze it in. but ill make sure i dont have 2 different lots of carbs next time thanks for pointing that out i didnt even think of that!!

glad you said bananas help yo retain water as im so so swollen, like beyond belief, despite losing weight the trousers that were loose weeks ago are pressing in on my tummy!!! i am also trying to cut down on salt as i do have way too much of it so that wont be helping. i only have 1 coffee in a morning (i need it as have a baby and toddler to run around after lol), i have started having green or peppermint tea in an afternoon, and i drink maybe 3 pints of sugar free juice through the day and night, i will check its below what you said on the calorie side as this could be another slip up, i just saw sugar free and thought it was ok lol. on the portion side, im quite aware of not having massive amounts of carbs on a ee day, and i tend to do half super free and the other half a mix of carbs and protein so dont think its that as im actually having more than a 3rd superfree at each meal. i eat quite a lot of satsumas too, like last night i was sooo hungry but had used everything up syns and healthy extras so i ended up having 5 satsumas lol, they were tiny in my defence but that is a tad excessive i guess lol. i just dont seem to get full that often, im sure im missing that part of my brain that tells me im full!!!

When we have thai curry that has potatoes in it and we have it with rice or the other meal that springs to mind is bombay potatoes as part of an Indian meal and that usually has bread, rice and potatoes !!!
