Back again - my last weight loss effort at the start of the year was scuppered by meeting a lovely lady, and then scuppered further when we broke up (excuses, excuses!) and I started a new working pattern which leaves me permanently tired.

I have a 'bionic' foot full of metal which is now hurting most of the time because of the excess weight I'm hefting around, and can no longer ride my horses as I'm too heavy - not sure where this sudden burst of GET ON WITH IT has come from, but I'm back. I have been avoiding most of my friends all year because of the weight gain, which is no way to live.

Started yesterday - fattest ever at 15 stone. Muppet. I had a bar, a mushroom soup and some beef - I find that I often need to have extra protein each day. I have a bag of individual chicken fillets in the freezer ready to have one a day if needed - into the fridge in the morning to defrost, then nuked in a bowl of water for 4 minutes. It makes getting good protein easy and fast.

My challenges: I work horrible shifts, have PCOS and cannot do much walking at present because of the foot.

My aims: less foot pain, light enough to ride again, back into size 10s.

Today - banana shake, 1.5L water up to press. Mushroom and tomato soups scheduled for later. I am off work this week, so should be able to get through the grumps without any consequences :D

Hi Evil-weevil, exact same start weight as me and nearly as tall :p.
Good luck with your first week and your journey to a new you. xx

Still here! First couple of days I was v lethargic and didn't feel up to doing a great deal, now feeling much better although a day outdoors helping to build a round house has taken its toll on my muscles more than it would with carbs in my system.

My body tends to trick me when it comes to ketosis - I get a false 'high' & lack of hungriness after 2 days, but then days 5-7 are HELL. I'm under no illusions! I've got a whopping bit of cow in the fridge for my food cravings, so will get through this weekend and then be in the clear for the next few months - I know I will still be obese at Christmas, but I will look a helluva lot better than I do now!

Checking in again - 2 days left til weigh in, but I'll be in London all day Tues so won't be able to do it until Weds. I sneakily hopped onto the scales this morning - 14.7, so 7lb gone in 5 days.

At work on a 12 hour shift today so had a bar at 8am and have been feeling hungry-ish for an hour or so, am staving off the pangs with tea and water because team tea tonight is chicken with veg, which I can do and still stay in ketosis.

London tomorrow night - planning to have 2 shakes during the day and a bar in the evening after my flight as I'm meeting a friend for coffee and chat, then Tuesday I'll be having a big ketosis friendly (bacon, eggs, mushrooms) hotel brekkie, and just a shake in the evening when I get home.
