CAN I FREEZE RAW BNS?

Hi All

I have googled this question and received conflicting advice, I wonder if you could assist. I have a massive BNS that I will not use all of at once. Should I peel and cut into wedges and then:
  • Freeze from Raw;
  • Blanch then freeze; or
  • Roast then freeze.
Thanks in advance. xx

I always freeze it peeled, chopped and raw - I'm still alive! No idea what you are meant to do though!

Thanks Jentwinkle - I was hoping that would be the case. Does it tend to go watery when you defrost/roast?

Thanks ninnins - But I am not a big soup fan. Congrats on the huge weight loss by the way - I am at your sort of start weight now with a long journey ahead of me, any tips?

I've never found it to be watery so far! I usually have some in the freezer diced quite small to roast either to put in risotto or in a salad, and also some bigger chunks for making soup.

I just sat here for about 2 mins trying to work out what BNS was - knew it would be obvious :D
I would just freeze from raw - guess it depends what you are going to do with it when you defrost it!

LOL I have had a whole one in my fridge for about 3 weeks now. They never go off.

Thanks, just break it up into bitesize chunks-lots of minigoals! I treated myself to a massage/manicure/pedicure etc after each stone, or theres others on here who have bought a charm bracelet and bought a charm for every half stone or stone they have lost.

And enjoy it! Try different foods and recipes you might not have tried before so you dont end up eating the same foods over and over again

You could also join in one of the the monthly challenges or teams to keep you motivated

Good luck
