Hi,
Want to restart but can't get to class as I generally work 12hr night shifts.

Has anyone tried SW Online. Is it worth the starting fee (£60 initially for 3 months). Or would it be better to be more active in this forum.

Would like to hear from anyone who has tried it.

Thanks for replying

Hi! I don't go to class or am a member online, I had the books from previously and I use this site for help and updates! I have never been a member online so can't comment, sorry! Good luck! X

I am an online member, you get access to all the plans food diaries updated info hints tips recieps etc as well as access to syns online and the syn calculator.
I took the silver membership and for an extra £5 get a years subscription to SW mag. I chart my weight every week and check my progress graph. you can also work towards your bodymagic awards by charting your exercise etc.
For me it works (31lb in 8 weeks) using this site as my body image and support network, lots of people find its not for them also.

I suppose its down to personal taste and commitment.
Hope this helps xx

There's are links in the blue band at the top of the page to tutorial and FAQ sections where you will get help in finding your way around

Over several years I've gone to a group, been an online member and now just use this site. I didn't know this site existed when been in a group or online member.

I used the online membership with gusto originally but then lost my enthusiasm with it - I was really only using it to record info and look up syns. Here, and on other sites there are lots of recipe's (which online has) and on here you can start a diary and join a weight loss thread to record info. Here requires a bit of searching on threads to find syn values, or rely on the good nature of others who have access to up-to-date info to find out for you (I haven't had an unanswered query yet :) ). The support here is unrivalled IMO but obviously require the same self motivation as online membership. Here has an edge if you join a thread like going through the stones but not quite the same as going for a weigh in for 'fear of not losing' motivation! Group has the advantage of the most up-to-date info.

I personally rank them as:
Minimins
Group
Online

I'm very motivated and doing reasonably ok going it alone but have had experience of sw before. But as I get closer to my goal ( I have 5 stone to lose) I will join my local group and still use here. I'd say once I'm 2 stone away.
