Considering coming back to CD

Hi all,

Dunno if anyone remembers me, but I've been on and off CD since November last year. I lost 3 stone in the process (very slowly) and had enough and swapped to weight watchers. Lost 3lb the first week, stayed the same the 2nd week, lost 2 the 3rd and gained 3 this week :( so that's a grand total of 2lb in a month!!!!!!!!! :(

I am considering seeing if my old CDC will see me on Monday so I can have another go at cd. I'm split about it though because I struggled sticking to cd since about march time.

Can anyone give me any advice at all? I have at least 3 stone to lose, 3 and a half to my 'ultimate goal.' I could try just until the start of December...

Hi, welcome back. I am a restarter, although I have had several attempts rather than just this one.I think you need to get excited about the diet again and the opportunity its giving you to get the weight off and fast! There is no way you can stick to it if you are going to go into it half heartedly, have a look at the inspirational slide show, write down your reasons to lose weight, get yourself geared up and just go for it.You can do it and we're all with you, going through the same struggles, highs and lows together.Good luck x

I nearly forgot.I have started on 810 and its waaaay easier for me to stick to than ss maybe try that my losses have been good so far xx

Thank you for the reply :) thats a really good idea! I really need to get myself motivated to do this. I know if I do it for a few weeks 100% I can get the bulk of the weigh off then lose the rest slowly and it won't really matter as much.

I couldn't agree with andju more!
I am also a restarter and I have tried numerous times alone, I got dead excited and went to see my new CDC on 2nd July and I have not looked back!
I did this for the first time in 2008 and lost just over 3st this time I am close to 4st... half way there!!!
like andju says have a look at weight loss threads and the slide show, you'll soon be in the zone! :)

Sent from my iPad using MiniMins

also if u do slip up, don't beat yourself up, get straight back on the wagon :)

Hi Felix - I remember you!

I'm also back - day 3 for me today.

Im 3st 3lb down from my CD start weight. Been maintaining on SW, though like you lose very little this way.

I've promised myself I'll be 100% until 30th November - as Christmas drinks will start then, and I'll spectacularly fall off the cd wagon! Hopping to lose 2.5-3st.

Come back - but make a promise to yourself. You'll get frustrated if you start adding food here and there again - and stop losing good weights.

Will your boyfriend come back too? You did it together last time didn't you?

I too have mucked around with LL and CD from 2008 with multiple tries at both. I have no idea what has changed or how but right now, mentally I am in the zone to lose the weight. You really need to assess why you want to lose the weight, what goals are important to you and how you hope to achieve them.

For me, one night I just got so miserable, I cried for a bit and then I wrote a huge list, reasons to lose weight and reasons not too. Then I wrote a list of goals, a list of feelings and a list of challenges. It really helped me get into the right head space. Every time I feel week I add to these lists. I even make lists of foods Im craving. I know it wont work for everyone but I write down everything and once its down I can leave it alone!

Hello! I also want to do it until the end of November like you :) I'd love to lose 2 and a half stone in that time. I am going to do SS+ again and stick to it rigidly. I fail because I have a little cheat then end up having more and more until there's no point in me even doing CD.

I don't think he wants to come back, I'm not sure. I think he wants to try Atkins for a while and see if that works for him.

I've text my CDC today to see if she will see me on Monday :D

I think writing it all down is a really good idea. I feel like I can do this now. The break doing weight watchers has really helped and I need to start losing again!

hi felix, i remember you. i'm back to loose some that i've put on! i think i'll always be with my cdc as i am ok for so long then loose the plot. i need the a$$ kicking (she's very nice really). i'm never happy with SW or WW as i find that i just don't loose much at all. food is too tempting with me and i need to sometimes stop and take account.

i think that you must always do what you feel you have to do, or need to do. the thing about CD is that it is quick when you're 100% but it's hard work at times when friends are having fun and going out or hubby wants a meal out etc. at times like this it is easier to be on an eating plan.

My advice would be to try SS+ and, on especially hungry/stressful/whatever days, follow the 810 plan. My friend does this - in fact she does from 810-1000 most days, and she's lost 2st 2lb in ten weeks. She has had the odd meal out, too, but has made sure she avoided carbs. She has even - shock horror - included the occasional naughty bar of chocolate. And she only has a couple of stones to go, now, to goal. Because she is not RIGID about CD - rigid and 100% suits many but not all - she has stuck to this for longer than any other diet in recent history. And she feels confident that she will lose the rest. I think so too! I am proud of her.

Whatever works for us as individuals is the right plan. Good luck, Felix!

ps she was on SW before. The slow, slow, slower losses totally demoralised her!
