Weight Watchers in the media

A magazine this week has an interview with someone who lost a shed load of weight on WW.

Typical article, it quotes the tons of food she ate pre WW then goes on to say 'Out went the chocolate and takeaway and in came, fish, chicken and salads'

I wish for once theyd focus on the fact that the whole point of WW for a lot of us is you CAN have takeaways & chocolate and still lose weight.

I have at least one packet of crisps a day, a Chinese once a week, eat out regularly etc. I DONT live on grilled fish, skinless chicken and bus loads of salad.

For once I wish the media would show another angle on this wonderful diet

I totally agree with your SL.

I think the problem is people assume that healthy means you eat sawdust and rocket leaves for your dinner.

At the end of the day a balanced diet means exactly that!

Maintenance for me is all about moderation and hence you are right that you can eat what you like as long as it is within the calorie restraints of what your body needs to function.

It drives me mad reading those "how I did it" stories. THeir photos may well be an inspiration, but reading "30g cereal, chicken salad, salmon and veg, and the occasional glass of wine" is enough to put ANYONE off starting. Yes, I like a sald, but I don't want to feel like the only way to lose weight is to have one EVERY day for lunch. I have a takeout prbably once a week, and I eat bread, and sweets, and chocolate, and chips, and drink vodka....... just include it in my points and make sure I fit them into a balanced diet.
