Chips/fries

Determination is Key
Okay, so I was wondering... you know the way they tell you to parboil some potatoes and then chip them and finish them off in the oven with frylite?
Could I just use frozen chips if I'm in a hurry? Or would I have to syn those?
I don't see how frozen chips would have to be synned, since they are just potato, but maybe there's oil or something added to them...?

Frozen oven chips like mccains etc have oil and sometimes flour added to them to make them go golden in the oven.

Some are part fried first too so they go crispy when oven cooked.
Sorry :-(
Alternativley I have heard of people making up sw chips and freezing them so they can just be pit in the oven. Maybe you could do this one day if you have time?

I have to say, when you master SW chips - they are way better than frozen chips!
Unfortunately, not as good as chip shop chips though :(

Due to the reasons given above - bought frozen chips MUST be synned!! But I will admit I'm not too keen on the SW chips (although most rave about them), so I do buy frozen chips and weigh them out and syn accordingly.

I buy Aunt Bessie Homestyle chips they are 2.5syns per 100g (frozen weight) on EE and green. But all bought chips do very - check before you munch!! x x x

Thank you, everyone x
