Good morning,
My name is Beth and I am 42. I have been overweight for years but at 5'11 I have been able to carry some extra pounds. However, In the last 3 years I have put on another 2.5 stone and now I just look really fat!!! I have tried lots of diets, but dont usually get past day 3. On the ones where I have lost a bit, it just slips back on. Having read up on here about Xenical, I have decided that this could really help me to eat really healthy and lose weight and get fit - 2 goals I have had for years but not achieved.

Well its day 1 and am about to take my first Xenical tablet with my weetabix and milk. Feel really nervous because of the side effects it can have - my tummy is already feeling gurgley!!

After breakfast am going to plan a weeks food and go to Asda to stock up.

I look forward to getting to know you all and supporting each other.

Have a great day!
x

Welcome, and good luck! If you stick to the rules the side effects are minimal :) and the "Tango" effect doesn't happen! (much) lol

I had issues with croissants.. Asda has some great Turkey breast steaks..

Have a look at myfitnesspal.com which also comes as a iPhone app :)

Good luck Beth if you make good choices with your food you'll be fine. I lost a couple of stones on Xen a while ago when I changed doctors they didnt renew my script because I missed a weigh in.

I have been doing weightwatchers on my own lately and have lost 1st 4lbs but joined a new class last week. First weigh in tonight eeeeek following the new plan. My doctor was impressed with my weight loss and has said I can go back on the xen from next week so I will follow WW and take the xen Im hoping it gives me a boost :O)

Good luck on your journey and I hope it really helps you. I had really positive results last time so be nice and motivated.

Luan x

Hi, i've been doing xenical for 4 weeks, had my first weigh in today. To be honest if you follow the rules you won't have any side effects. In 4 weeks i had about 3/4 days off plan but because i'd eaten so low fat the rest of the time i still didn't have any side effects.

What i would say is if you have a dicky tummy the first few days i wouldn't assume it's the tablets, when i eat healthy about 2 days afterwards i have an upset tummy for a couple of days i think it is just my body trying to get rid of the rubbish.

I had my first weigh in and lost 15lbs today, and i'm going to get weighed at the nurses every four weeks and no peeking in the meantime and hope to lose 7lbs every 4 weeks from now on.

So good luck and any questions just ask.

Good luck Beth. I was nervous too at the start, but have stuck to the rules and have had no tango moments. Would recommend myfitnesspal too.

Hi Everyone, thanks for the warm welcome on this board and well done on the brill loses you have had so far.

Well heres my food diary for today, any feedback would be great as I get into the swing of things!!

Breakfast:
Special K and SS milk and a banana

A WW carrot cake

Chicken salad, home made low fat coleslaw and a wrap

!!!!!OMG - just looked at costco chicken rotisserie on myfitnesspal and I think its too high and I have already taken a tablet - am I about to be tangoed??????!!! How long after does it happen?????!!! OMG

Well I was going to end by saying I have had a great day but not so sure now?!!! Agghhhhh! xx

Hi Dizzy

Welcome to Xenical. I've been on it since the end of June and i'm so glad I i'm taking it. It has really help me stick to a low fat diet.

It may be a couple of days before you know if it will have an effect. I'm having a bad week with food this week which began on Sunday and I only got tangoed today but am expecting more tomorrow.

Yesterday looked good! Breakfast is so important so make sure you always have a good one! Make sure you drink plenty of water too, as it does help to keep everything going! 2-3litres is the minimum that you should.

You can feel a little funny in the first week, and a funny stomach is common, so I wouldn't worry about that, should it happen. Follow the rules and you'll be fine. Welcome to Minis :)

Evening all!!!

Day 2 and had a great day today - have been really good, and if someone had offered me some choc and £1000 I would not taken taken it - these tablets really make u think about what u are putting in your mouth and I am hoping that all my bad habits are elimated as I learn to eat healthy again. It takes 21 days to make a new habit apparently so am hoping that in 3 weeks I automatically choose a healthy option...
I also bought the Beck book today - looking forward to reading that tomorrow before my late shift at work.

My menu today;

BREAKFAST:
Special K honey clusters (mmmmm) and a banana

LUNCH:
Baxters soup and 2 ww bread and a load of fruit and a WW yogurt

TEA:
Stir fry chicken, noodles and chow mein sauce followed by a WW pud

All were within the rules and I have drank tons of water too.

Sat in work today thou, in my size 22 trousers which were digging into me sooooo much. Feel huge and cant wait for the pounds to melt away. So far so good, but just taking 1 day at a time.

Anyway, sleep well xxx

Love the Beck book :)

Just a though, those Special K, you could be better off switching to something doesn't contain all that sugar and sweetness, as sometimes it can make you crave...the best breakies are gi foods, porridges, bran flakes etc they release energy slowly, keep your energy levels up and balance your blood suagr :)

What is the beck book about?

Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins

Thanks for the advice on special K bunny hops - have got weetabix to so may alternate and once the special k is gone, its gone! I think it was you who recommended the Becks book so thanks again - I was reading it this morning thinking, ooooo thats me, I do that etc etc so definately will help me loose the weight.

Off to work till 1130pm tonight, and going to maker a soup - I have a bag of butternut squash and sweet potato and a load of tomatoes that need to use up - do u think I could make a soup and just bung it all intogether with some stock to take to work?

Cya soon and enjoy this weather! xx

Hello!
Not been online for few days but have come online to report my first wiegh in - I lost 5.4lbs! Actually I thought I would have lost a lot more in my first week as I usually do AND I have stuck to the Xen rules totally - but hey its a loss and I do feel better. Also, I have plantar facitits (horrible heel pain when I put my foot on the floor) so I havent done any excercise.
Have read half the Becks book - excellent and I am about to start the excercises you do each day.

My highs of the week:
Having a bbq for family on Sun and having loads of fatty food in the house but I actually ate a chicken wrap and LF wedges
Not being tango'd once so I must be doing something right
Clothes being less tight

What I can do better next week:
Ate special k most mornings but very sugary - nearly all gone so will go onto weetabix
The tea machine in work - getting the tea with sugar in - need to get sweetners or do without sugar as waste of calories
Need to get excercing but limited as sore foot but can go for a swim...? (Am still in lazy mode- will I wake up one day and suddenly have the urge to exercise or will I always have to force myself?!)

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well and wishing you a great week xxx

I like my special k.. Peach and apricot one very nice.. If I eat wheatbix I tend to add sugar..

Have moved this to my diary so dont discourage everyone with my unmotivated mood!! Since writing this af arrived and have realised I have been wearing the insoles for my plantar facitis on the wrong feet for 6 weeks!!!! Grrr. Anyway feel better now but leaving post here so in a few weeks can see how my motivations have hopefully changed!!!! xx

Good afternoon!

Having a rubbish day - got on scales today a day early and for week 2 stayed the same. Grrr. Have done this 100% and am now thinking whats the point? I miss eating choc and crisps and naughty stuff. Is it worth it? All this effort for nothing.
Also, I have plantar faciitis which is really horrible heel pain when you put your foot down - had it for 3 months and is getting worse and am waiting to be referred but not much can be done for it. I am not a great excerciser anyway but when dieting I do get walking but I cant and its making me miserable. (although could swim or go on excercise bike so I am totally making excuses)!
Also, I only work 3 days a week and once I do the school run, I am off home alone for the day. Recently I havent had made plans and today I ended up going back to bed - I feel so lazy and its making me more miserable. I wonder how other people in this situation get motivated to do stuff and do they plan their days off? Loads of jobs need doing and I have done sod all.
Anyway rant over, thought it might help to get on paper.
PS Prob got pmt which isnt helping!
x

Only lost half a pound for my 2nd week! Not sure if xenical is working for me - I usually lose loads more on other diets in the first couple of weeks. I have been excellent and followed the rules. Think I will give it another week and see what happens before I decide what to do x

Half a pound is a loss honey. My friend said to me they'll only work if you're eating the fat! What are you following, is it just the 5g per 100 thing? Are you on myfitnesspal? I'm finding it really helps!

Hi Lexie, oooo confused now as I am only eating 95% fat free and thought you had too (except tonight when I needed to eat a rolo dessert which was 11% fat - but I have been ok?!!)

I like weight watchers - may switch as missing so many foods that I can have on ww but not on this ? xx
