Hi guys, I was a member of this forum a while back, I was only an active member for a few monthes but in that time the support and info I got was amazing and I accheived a nice loss of about a stone and half without going to group. You kept me on track and motivated, then I fell pregnant and all went to pot.

This is my first pregnancy and I guess my expectations far outlived reality and upto just have had a pretty rough time. Im feeling loads better though now and have loads more energy again. im almost 16 weeks and have gained 8lb so far, but feel now that I should be making a conciouse effort to maintain a healthy weight and not gain unnessesary pounds.

The weight I have gained has terrified me and put me into a real depression, now I know im pregnant as everyone is quick to tell me but upto now iv not eaten very healthy as I just couldnt stomach it.

Any advice and support to give me that kick to stay on plan would be great. I plan on doing mostly green days with afew extra easy as im craving carbs so this will help....

Hello:) my daughter is now 2, but I can relate to what you are saying about only being able to stomach junk food!

I had such severe sickness that I needed medication to stop the sickness so I could continue working. It had got to the stage where I couldn't make the journey to work without being sick before I got there!

I gained about 3 stone during pregnancy & shortly after as I'd sit feeding my daughter and be eating rubbish during!

I only wanted junk food too and part of that reason was I was so tired I didn't want to cook on an evening, to be honest it was a vicious cycle, less I did less I wanted to do.

Id recommend trying to stick to the principles of sw, it will give you a healthy balanced diet for you and baby and will minimise your weight gain.

If you are tired after work, how about quick pasta dishes and batch cooking at weekend for the week?

Hope that's helped a little, more than anything I just wanted to let you know that I completely understand:)

welcome home. You will find that your weight gain will stabilise at the moment now you are back to eating good quality food. Don't worry about the junk food you ate as it was a means to an end when you were so sick.
Although you are pregnant you don't need to eat for two so measure out your HEa and HEb's and away you go.
p.s Congratulations x

Welcome back and congrats on your pregnancy!
