Lighter Life - Worried about maintenance

Hi all,

I currently follow Slimming World and have lost 16lbs but I need something that works faster so I am thinking of doing Lighter Life for a few months and then maintaining with Slimming World and exercise.

I don't eat too badly as it is, hardly eat carbs, don't eat takeaways or fatty foods, obviously I have the odd day where I lose control and eat something bad but I am hoping my control and knowledge of Slimming World would serve me well in maintaining the loss.

I am really worried that you will only maintain by eating 500 calories a day??

I am going to the information night tonight but wanted to hear from people who have successfully maintained and how they have done it??

Thanks

I think your wires are crossed hon, when you are in maintenance you eat a normal low GI diet, if you continued on 500 cals you would evaporate eventually :) i have done all the others before and LL is the only one that has worked for me, the main part is the counselling it is so important to stay to group/class and do the homework/tasks if you are given any, I lost 3 1/2 stone last year didnt do rtm then put back on some so i am back on my track started last week xx give it a go and you will be suprised

Hello Looly
Bythe time you come back on here hopefully all your questions will have bee answered.
Sandra is right LLT is for losing the weight. Then there's Route to Management to re-introduce food, gradually reducing the packs.
Maintenance is eating a healthy balanced diet to keep the weight off.

Thanks for your responses!

I don't think I was clear what I was asking, I meant if you are doing 500 calories on LL and then go to eating normal food which will be more than 500 calories how do you not put weight on.

I actually went to the info night tonight and asked the same question, it was explained to me and I do feel a bit better about it all.

I think I am going to give it a go, better to try than to sit and wonder. And maintenance is going to be my biggest challenge but I am doing maintenance at the moment, ensuring I dont get any bigger so hopefully I'll be ok.

slendablenda, its very encouraging and inspiring that you've maintained for 2 years and 8 months.

Hopefully I'm on a journey to a happier life :)
