Red and green plan

Hello everybody.
Iv been doing sw for a few weeks now for the second time and I'm doing the extra easy plan. Iv found myself getting a little lax about the plan, and maybe sometimes thinking it's too easy??
This is exactly how I felt last time before I ended up giving up, and though I know I have the determination anything that can help is a plus.
So I was thinking of trying to incorporate a few green/ red days in. Only problem is I have NO IDEA at all how they work!
Going to sit down with my book but any hints, tips and usefull facts about them would be very much appreciated!!

I don't understand why thinking it is too easy would make you lax? It is easy celebrate it, embrace the plan and lose the weight.

Red and green are great plans too but just don't understand why ee is too easy or why being too easy is not a good thing

It's basically a split between meat and non-meat free foods.
On red all lean meat/fish is free but you have to syn or HEX your non-meat free foods (ie beans/pulses, potatoes, the odd abnormal vegetable (such as parsnips).

On Green it's the other way around - potatoes, beans/pulses are free but you syn/HEX your lean meat/fish.

You also get to have 4 HEXes instead of 2 and you dont have to be so strict about filling every plate 1/3 full of superfree (although superfree is still important to eat when you can)

Hi Laura,

I do mostly red days, but I have to mix the occasional green in to mix it up a bit or I get bored of eating similar things.

Take a peak at a few diarys to see if the help. I have a diary on here - not clever enough to send a link to it, but its called mainly red - a few odd green days.

For a red day I will typically have meat or fish with all the fat cut off with a big heap of veg. I snack on fruit and use 2 HEXAs a day and 2 HEXBs a day (+ my syns obviously!!)

On a green day I love jacket potatoes, baked beans, slimming world chips, rice and pasta + the HEXs

Because my 1/3 superfree keeps getting smaller and though I make the effort to put it on my plate, it don't make the effort to eat it. I know that sounds like I'm just not making the effort but me n veg have a love, hate relationship and the more i eat the more it effects my ibs. Ee is about portion control a lot more than the others (so iv heard anyway) and I struggle a lot with that, but I didn't realise that last time.
Plus mixing things up helps to keep things flowing, keeps me on my toes and means I will HAVE to plan so I don't get caught out.

This makes total sense except for one thing hun. Have you thought about how you are going to maintain weight after you have got to target? I really see Extra Easy as a plan that is not only easy whilst you're loosing, but also when you are maintaining. Its not realistic to go back to the way we ate before (A fact that frankly depressed me for a while when I figured it out), but do you really want to spend the rest of your life avoiding meat or carbs depending on what day of the week it is? It would make sense to try & sort out portion control along the way (easier said than done I know) so that when you get to target you have more of a chance of maintaining.

Whilst eating a higher proportion of fruit & veg is recommended on extra easy its by no means a rule, and you can loose weight on it without it - you just need to be careful on your portion sizes.

My own personal experience of trying Red & Green days to boost my weight loss was that I felt very restricted, and actually ended up going off plan, despite my willpower & determination, resulting in gaining weight over a month, not loosing it.
