Hi, Im Amanda

Im 24 and have two beautiful children, a daughter who is nearly four and a son who is 11 weeks today. Im engaged to a wonderful man and we are planning to get married in Aug 2013.

Im currently around 16st6 and am 5ft5 and a size 18 top and 20/22 bottom. Ive been overweight all my life and have just gradually gotten fatter and fatter over the years due to my pregnancies and the fact I cant stop eating lol.

I want to be slim, I have never been able to walk into a shop and just buy what I want, before my daughter at 20 I was a size 16/18 and had generally been a size 16 since 13 years old. Though now a size 16 seems pretty good lol

So this is it now, tomorrow is the start of the rest of my life as slim Amanda. My son is settling into a bit of a routine now and i have written out a routine for all of us to follow and stick too.

Half my battle will be organisation, I am the most dis-organised person ever and I need to get that into order so I know what Im doing all the time.

Weigh in day will be Mondays, off to buy scales on pay day on Friday. I will be following the SW diet but probably not strictly all the time, I know you must count syns for say a tin of soup but its easy for me to do with the kiddies and surely its gotta be better than the pasty and macdonalds i was eating before lol.

So here we go :D

Goals

23rd October: lose 7lbs
1st December: lose 14lbs
10th March which is a friends wedding: be in a size 16 dress!!

Ultimate Goal: Size 12 wedding dress!!!

hello and welcome :)

just want to wish you luck, you are planning all the right things, keep postingon here, you'll get nothing but support and good advice, we all understand..and look forward to seeing you in that size 12 wedding dress..perfectly do-able!

Well the diet was a bit of a non start, my little boy was poorly so I had to sort of stick to easy food.
But he is now on the mend & I've started today. Feeling happy & positive about it plus the oh has decided he needs to cut back too.
So far today had two weetabix with ss milk & handful of grapes. Omelette for lunch & sweet chilli chicken stirfry for tea. Got my fruit & carrots ready for snacks & trying to drink as much water as possible.

Thank you, I find I have to cook myself yummy food else I get bored or if Im not looking forward to it Ill end up eating something bad.
Seeming its such a nice day, a family walk is in order after tea, get those muscles working haha

Hi Amanda. :)

You remind me of me after u had my eldest three, they're 14, 12 and 10 now. I wasn't sure how much I weighed though (didn't want to know), and I wore big baggy T-shirts and baggy tops so wasn't sure of my size.

But eventually it started coming off with slimming world really, I ended up at my lowest weight as 9&a half stone! Went back up a few times cause of hernia and packing up smoking but then I had my fourth child and now I'm 11 stone.

So it most definitely can be done. Just don't give yourself I hard time if you take a step back! Just carry on and congratulate yourself all the way! Good luck, you'll be fine. x

Thank you Claire, its so good to hear success stories. I know its only day one but Im feeling really positive at the moment. Ive taped a picture of a beautiful wedding dress up in my kitchen and have repeated 'eyes on the prize' a millions times already lol. Its not just about the wedding dress, I need to get healthy for my family, Ive got two little kiddies who need their mummy to be the best for them.

Sorry your little one was ill, hope he's better and wish you all the best for losing the weight :)

Yes hes much better, just had a cough & cold. He is now teething though so another battle to face lol.
Been ok today, had an ice cream at the park with my daughter & a few chips with my sandwich at lunch but had a good brekkie & mullerlight with fruit for tea so not all that bad. I have got some aerobics programmes to be recorded on that fitness channel on sky so will be doing those tomorrow.
Disaster of the day, my filling fell out so i have to face the dentist, my worst fear!! I've already had a cry about it & haven't even made the appointment yet. Give me childbirth any day over fillings & injections in the mouth :(

Hi amanda ur doin so well considerin u hav two children! I have one, hes nearly two, and hes a little minx. He refuses any routine I have ever set for him, hes a terrible sleeper too! But I jus get on with it and work around it.
Iv been on n off with diets but I get married in ten weeks and would love to shift a couple of stone! Im just takin the healthy eatin and exercise approach as every other diet iv failed at lol

Keep goin and keep positive, feel free to follow my diary :)

Happy slimming

Sorry to hear about your filling, sounds like you really are scared of the dentist! Hope it goes ok even so and that it will all be over very soon

Glad little one is better

take care and good luck with dentist

Thanks Kimmy, luckily the children are very good, except a little attitude from my daughter, she is 3 going on 13 lol. Good luck on your weight loss for your wedding, it must be so exciting, I cant wait for our big day and its still just under 2 years away yet.
Im terrified of the dentist and my actual dentist is horrible, when I make the appointment im going to ask if I can switch to another one in the the practice, he does nothing to put me at ease and just takes the piss, its as if he has got no time for nervous patients. Im sure Im starting to feel a little ache in the tooth so Im going to definately make an appointment on Monday, I put it off today. As much as i hate the dentist, i hate toothache more.
Im going to have a looky through everyone elses diarys this evening, get to know everyones stories.

So today I have eaten

A mullerlight yogurt for brekkie
Tuna pasta salad for lunch with a little mayo.
And three cups of coffee plus water.

We have got takeaway for tea ;) but Im going to go slightly sensible and have duck in plum sauce minus the skin and noodles. Maybe a cheeky onion ring, it is friday after all haha

Well I had a good day yesterday, I had two weetabix for brekkie, ham salad for lunch and low fat spag bol for tea to which i added loads of veg too, i also had a mini milk (only 31 calories ideal) and a small bag of maltesers. Today has been a bad day but we had a family day out so I can be forgiven a bit, I had two weetabix for brekkie, a cheeseburger with fried onions and mayo with a few cheesy chips for lunch, a cherry flavoured ice cream milkshake and two pieces of fruit loaf for supper with a mug of hot chocolate
But oh well back on it tomorrow, going to walk my daughter to nursery and do my workout tomorrow.
Bought my new scales which are making me 16st 1lbs, not sure if I have actually lost weight or if its my house, there isnt a level floor in this place, in my front room I was 12st 5 :8855:
So im going to take my weight as 16 st 1 and go from there.

xx

Wow lol that's a 4 stone difference!!!! Sounds like a yummy day yesterday, think it's ok to have some of the things we like sometimes hey?

All the best

Back on it again today. My car broke down in Tescos, the battery died so I walked the two miles home pushing the pram so at least had a bit of exercise. Had a bowl of cheerios with semi skimmed milk for breakfast, an omelette for lunch with ham, chives and a sprinkling of cheese and for tea is a chicken breast stuffed with light garlic philly and wrapped in bacon, corn on the cob and salad, OH and DD are having mash with theirs and fruit and mullerlight for dessert.
My little boy has a hospital appointment tomorrow about his reflux, its settled down a lot since the appointment was made but still going to go anyway to see what they say, he keeps getting eye infections so I want to ask about that, he had literally had it since he was two weeks and he is now 12 weeks.

Thanks Blossums, gotta say though I felt guilty I enjoyed every mouthful of the bad stuff lol. We usually get takeaway every Friday so Im finding the thought of that keeps me going through the week, for my little treat.
