Ive been on the Atkins for about a week and I have lost about a lb in total. I've read you can lose up to 15 lbs in two weeks, I'm following it religiously food wise and I haven't been cheating, could the fact that I'm still drinking the likes of pepsi max be doing anything? And maybe could drink a little more water? I need help! Food I'm eatin are like chicken lamb pork chops cheese eggs sausage the good ones tho not like walls! Thanks all xx

Hi f2f,
Yes sf products and fizzy drinks can definitely stall people. Everyone is different. Also are you getting enough leafy greens? You should be making sure you do get your 20g carbs of which 12-15 from veggies. And yes the water is critical - guzzling required!

Good luck and keep going:D

Ps why dont you start a diary in diaries section and post your daily menu - then we can see what you're having and comment to help:)

Definitely try drinking more water, at least 2 litres. Also Pepsi Max contains citric acid which can stall some people, try Coke Zero or Dr Pepper Zero instead as it contains malic acid.

Sweetners and dairy stalled me. Couldnt even look at a bit of cheese without staying the same weight! lol!

I'm having the same problem. Last week was great, this week, rubbish. So I'm cutting out all sugar free products and fizzy pop (mine had citric acid in! oops)
I've got one hell of a sweet tooth and i was trying to replace the sugar with sugar-free stuff, but my body is not having it!

I drink 6 glasses or more of water a day, but i haven't been drinking fizzy

Thanks for your replies! Deffo need to stock up on veggies then if they take up that amount of carbs! you know when it says 2 to 3 cups? How big is a cup? Just an average one you would have a brew out of? Xx

Defo lose the cola, and the cream and cheese (at least for now). Also read the labels on sausages etc cos they can be quite high in carbs - due to the rusk or whatever that is in there to bind them. I don't eat meat but others here can guide you on the best low-carb sausages to go for.

Give it your best shot, avoid sugar free junk and you should soon see good results!
