Hey guys I'm day 1 of CD and I have had a porridge which tasted ok and a chicken and mushroom soup, the soup tasted very powdery.. It felt as if t was dryin my throat up! Is this normal? Do you get used to it?

I don't like porridge or soup either I prefer all shakes cold except vanilla I like that hot with coffee in it!! I guess it's trial and error!!

Good luck

I like the shakes my current fave is chocolate mint - I put mine in the blender and give it a good whizz and they are nice a fluffy! I do not find them powdery but I dislike porridge and the veg soup! The rest grow on you :)

Tetras are the only way for me. Lovely. Everything else is powdery and the maple porridge has a fishy aftertaste (weird I know, nobody else thinks this but I definitely have a fishy aftertaste lol). To me paying the extra for tetras is well worth it.

Hi, I've just done day 2 of CD SS. The cappuccinno is not nice at all and I bought 7 to have one a day, even with 3 spoons of coffee it's not going down very well!
But chocolate and banana and forest fruits are really lovely, I blend them with some ice cubes.
I didn't get any soups this week, but I will for next week.

You can exchange your packs for free with your CDC if there is anything you don't like. :] (I wasn't to keen on the cappuccino shake either)

I'm 8 days in, so it's all new to me too! So far, I've found the soups a bit hard to stomach, ended up adding extra water to water down the flavours a bit. And definitely use a blender/mixer for those or they come out lumpy (not nice!!)

The first time I had a shake it tasted powdery too but after 8 days I don't even notice, and I really enjoy them now. Favs are; Banana, Mint Choc, Strawberry and Vanilla. There is a butterscotch one as well which I'm dying to try, but my CDC is out of stock atm. (they must be good!!!)

Once you get used to the consistency of the porridges they are quite enjoyable too. Maple and Pecan is my fav! :D

I didn't know you could swap the packs, but I think I'm supposed to have all of them in the week, is that right?
I didn't get the porridges as I won't really eat it normally but for a bit of variety I may get some.
Well done for your week 1 loss!! I can hardly wait to get on the scales!

I swapped all my veg soup for chocolate mint - I just phoned my CDC up and she popped round with the swaps - I like the butterscotch too x

I only like the powder shakes . If u blend them with a few ice cubes they are so thick and lovely really enjoy them plus with the ice an pint if water it makes 2 big glasses fills u right up :) xx

Just thought I'd share I've had a vanilla shake with 1/2 tsp of the orange water flavouring in and a few I've cubes in the blender honestly it tastes like cheesecake :) lovely xx

mmm that sounds nice! I will have to give that a go!!
Is there any other things you can do to improve the tastes!
I am only on day one and all ready STARVING.... its not looking good! But i have heard the first 3 days are the worst! so will hopefully struggle through!
Also i am not use to the taste yet and all 3 meals today were not great! The soup was so lumpy and powdery! And the chocolate orange was GROSS! But like they say no pain no gain!
What are do you think are the best flavours? xx

there seems to be absolutely no consensus on best flavours - ones that are hated and despised are bound to be someone's favourite (I'm looking at you, maple and pecan porridge). But - lumpiness is going to make things a bit manky. I recommend you get a stick blender. They sell the for about a fiver in big supermarkets, and I reckon in argos they'll be a similar price. whizz up all your shakes and soups = no lumps and creamy frothiness. If you get a decent motor on your stick blender you could stick some ice cubes in with the shakes and whizz them up till the cubes are all gone. The result is super thick milkshakes. Like macdonalds thick. Lovely.

Yes defo add the ice the really nice :) I like hit vanilla with a bit if coffee in too like a frothy coffee blended
