first time over target in a year

Well, we went away at the end of August - 2 weeks all inclusive to mexico. I did make some wise choices whilst we were away but also made some unwise ones but it is once a year and you work all year to pay for it. Anyway we got back on the Tuesday so I got straight back on plan and by the following monday (WI day) I have lost 1 and a half pounds.

Anyway this past week has been really stressful. Work is awful as we have been turned into a contact centre so am constantly on the phone and not really get chance to snack on my fruit, plus having to deal with some really irate customers and then last Wed we got the news that my husbands uncle had weeks to live. It was only about 6 weeks ago that he had a tumour removed from his kidney and was told they had removed it all. However it was a really agressive form of cancer and he sadly passed away on Sunday. It has brought back all the memories of when we lost my dad - 6 years ago as he had really agressive non hodgkinsons lympohma. All I have seemed to do is eat, eat and eat - I have just hit the virtual self destruct button.

Anyway on monday at weigh in I had gained 4lbs :mad: taking me over target for the first time in a year. Yesterday I was determined to get back on track and had a 100% day so am hoping next weeks WI will be better.

Just a virtual hug. You have had a torrid time of it late but remember to look after yourself. You have recognised what is happening very quickly so I am sure you will be back at target soon. xx:hug99:

I think to be fair you deserve massive pat on the back for staying within target for a year well done!!!

I am sorry to hear about your loss. It is always is difficult, especially as it does tend to remind us of others we lose. Grief works in such strange ways. Dont be afraid of giving yourself the space and time you need right now before worrying about getting back to target.

I am so sorry for your loss - you've done incredibly to stay within target for so long, and you'll be back there very soon. I think it's understandable that you've not been focussed on your food recently (and, additionally, you've been pumping out cortisol - a stress hormone - which can do funny things with your weight) but you're here, and at meetings and you'll pull it back in no time.

Treat your body to some really good on plan meals - stuff that makes you feel good both emotionally and physically and be proud you've done so fantastically so far.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

I have been partly on plan this week, all my meals have been SW friendly. However its the craving/snacking for sweet stuff that has let me down so far. I am at a 50th tonight and staying over with family so am aiming to make some wise choices.

I know that the snacking on sweet stuff is bad I just can't help it.

You've really done amazing to only put 4lbs on! If i had all that to contend with, it'd be a lot more. Dont beat yourself up about it, focus on getting through the next few weeks emotionally, then you can committ to SW 100%.

& congrats for hitting target and staying there for a year - wow!

Yes well done for that. I am at target, been there for just over 2 months but finding it so difficult to maintain. Trouble is I think I set my initial target incorrectly, will spk to my c about it. She is excellent and will sort me out.
