Question about life post Exante

I've heard that vlcd put your body into starvation mode and you gain all the weight back.
After I had children I was 3 stone overweight. I lost 1 stone but can't seem to shift this 2 stone. I don't tend to gain weight and eat fairly ok with odd bits of junk thrown in but I pretty much maintain and have done for 2 years.
I'm fed up of this weight and find it hard to stick to regular diets.
I thought something like this for maybe 6 weeks would do the trick.

The question I have is that when I finish, would I end up gaining it all back if I ate like I do now? Will I have to reduce my calories to something a lot lower for the rest of time?

How DO you eat now? If you go on ANY diet, lose weight & then go back to unhealthy/high calorie eating you will gain it back. It has nothing to do with VLCDs. Your body does not go into starvation mode, that's a myth. If you follow the plan correctly, go up all the steps, add back carbs & more calories gradually like you're supposed to then you will be fine. Following a healthy eating plan after any diet is essential to keeping the weight off, VLCDs are no different, you just need to follow the re-feed plan & figure out your BMR and tinker your calories in/out accordingly. Hope this helps! :) x

Thanks thats good to know.
So I'll probably be able to eat like I already do? ie fairly healthy and around 1800 cals a day. Not enough to lose weight but fine to maintain.

If you lose 2 stone, the amount of calories you'll need to maintain will be less than it is at the moment. If you want to stay eating the same calories you would need to increase your exercise after losing 2 stone - because your BMR will have reduced as your weight will be lower.
