need help with my avatar!

hi guys....i am new to this site...i have sorted out my profile picture, and i think it is showing up when people see my posts, right???.....i hope so!

i would now like to add an animated avatar to appear in my signature underneath my posts...but i am not sure how to do it!

can i link it to any website, such as photobucket?

if so, which of the codes do i use?...photobucket gives me the option of direct link, html, image code and email/IM code.....now my brain is just boggling! ha ha !!

any advice would be great! cheers! xxx
