hey peeps!

i guess we all have certain foods that we couldnt live without on our calorie counting missions....

here are the foods that keep me going....

1. walkers french fries - i have a packet every night while watching telly so that i feel i am having a treat.

2. warburtons square wraps - i have these for lunch filled with various hot fillings...satisfying and a nice change to a sandwich!

3. tesco light choices oven chips - i cook these without oil in my actifry and they are lovely! i am always surprised at how many chips i can have for so little calories!

4. extra lean minced beef - allows me to have bigger portions of my bolognaise!

5. mushrooms - i use them with so many dishes..a great way to bulk up without adding loads of calories.

6. half fat mozzarella - allows me to have my cheese fix, and a little goes a long way when you break it into little pieces and sprinkle it over home made wholemeal pitta bread pizza just before you put them under the grill!

so thats my list...what are your must have foods girlies? xxx

Low fat cheese, salad ingredients, mushrooms and eggs. Also today I discovered Quorn meat style slices, only 28cals per serving (about 2 slices I think) so if they are nice I'm laughing! Also nimble bread only 48cals a slice so again if I like it then it's a win as it's like half the cals of normal bread. I think I must be the last dieter on earth to discover the bread haha but I haven't actually tasted these last two yet, I will give them a whirl for tomorrow's lunch.

yeah, the chips are fab! they are 160 cals for 125g portion....and when i had first had them i thought 'i will probably have about 6 chips for that amount of calories'...but i was pleasantly gob smacked when i weighed them out..ha ha !!

good luck with your nimble bread.....i used to have it, and there is nothing wrong with the taste, i just found that it didnt fill me because the slices were smaller and it seems a bit light...

so i ended up eating more later on...but you might find that its fine for you, and if so it will save you lots of calories! xxx

I make chips by chopping a potato into chips and then spraying with fry light and cooking in oven I love them and feel naughty when I have them :)

Tesco's lightly dusted cod it's low in fat and 200kcals a piece and is great with above chips and mushy peas :)

Pink n whites favourite diet snack ever and only 50kcals!

Cadbury light mousse fab chocolate fix.

i so my chips the same way as you sometimes....have you tried sprinkling them with a bit of soy sauce to help them go browner?.....i learned that from people in a slimming world class that i used to go to....

i love that cadburys choccy mousse too!
cadburys is the best!!! ha ha !!! xxx

I like 0% greek yogurt (or cheaper alternative) with a Highlights choc sachet stirred into for a low fat version of chocolate angel delight. (Sorry, I don't know the kcals per portion).

Oooh, that sounds nice!!! Will have to give that a go !!!

Cadburys light chocolate mousses!!! Only 60 cals a pot. Could not manage without them. They are my chocolate fix, and I have 1 most nights. :)

Just coming back to say YES for the Nimble bread, it tastes great, and YES to the Quorn 'beef' as well, very tasty at only 27cals for two slices. They are now definite dieting 'must haves' for me :)

Crumpets! I am the queen of these doughy little pieces of heaven. The Tesco ones come in at 80 calories each :)

oh, thats great, i am glad you liked them...its always good to be able to add to the list of 'enjoyable yet healthy' foods! xxx

Hot options drinks, 40cals. Alpen bars 60 cals. I'm sure there are more. Wotsits and quavers are under 100cals.

Oh yeah forgot about the hot chocs, I buy Alcafe one from Aldi, a box of sachets, I think they say 38 cals each. Perfect for a chocolate fix without breaking the calorie bank! The Options ones are great, you can get all different flavours. They have jars of Options in Aldi at the moment but they are 60 cals per cup so I left them, I am becoming super frugal on the calories lately. Make em stretch!
