What do you flavour your plain yoghurt with?

I have been making my own plain yoghurt in the slow cooker which is lovely ( http://www.minimins.com/dukan-recipes/233104-easy-homemade-yoghurt-slow-cooker.html ) but was wondering what Dukan friendly things I could flavour it with.

I use vanilla, lemon essence and jelly powder but would be interested what others use to flavour theirs.

I have read that some use Angel Delight and such like and was wondering if any of the dessert powders at Approved Foods would be any good.

DESSERTS | Approved Food

They have 2 catering sized tins of Birds Mousse for £3 which would be great if you could add them to your yoghurt.

By the way, I am not connected to AF, just thinking of putting an order in at the minute.

Ta!

NO to anything like Angel Delight!

Has anyone used Swedish Connections for food flavourings?

www.swedishconnections.co.uk

They are only 55p each and it is free delivery for less than 3 bottles by the look of it, plus I can use the dregs in my Paypal account to pay for it.

:D

Can anyone tell me what the condensed milk flavour tastes like as I have never tried it.

Ta.

I've bought quite a few from there. In all honesty, I was completely underwhelmed by the condensed milk flavour. I LOVE condensed milk and really don't rate this flavouring. My sister, on the other hand, really likes it.
I got the coconut (my favourite), mango (nice), pineapple (not feeling that one) and condensed milk (hmmmm...).
I also have (not from there) caramel (lovely), lemon and orange (yum), vanilla (nice), raspberry and strawberry (slightly sickly), almond (not tried it yet).
At 55p a bottle you can't go far wrong though.

Thanks Locket.

Where did you buy the other ones from that you have?

I got the rest, bar the caramel flavouring from Sainsbury's. Be warned, however, the lemon and orange ones contain oil. I only use these when I REALLY need something different in my yogurts, certainly not everyday and, a max of 0.3ml a day. The caramel flavouring, my sister was kind enough to send me a bottle that she found in a South African shop in Wimbledon.
Nice, unusual flavourings really aren't difficult to find, just keep a look out, especially at some of the ethnic shops.

I've just placed an order for rose, banana, cherry and coconut using paypal funds. Thanks Don'tWantToBe and Locket!

PS. I wonder what cola flavour yoghurt would be like :D

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I've ordered Rose, Butterscotch, strawberry and peppermint. :)

I may order the cherry and banana ones next.

I wonder how long they take to deliver.

Can't wait to try them now, especially in muffins.

:D

I have tried the almond flavouring that I bought in dukan muffins and they were really nice, reminded me of bakewell tart.

They are probably wondering why they have had a sudden influx of orders :D

Oooh cherry and almond mixed could be nice to make "bakewell tart" :)

It's worth a look. I'm pretty sure you'll find something interesting at the Asian supermarket. I've heard pistachio is pretty good, I wouldn't be surprised if u found that there. I'm pretty sure you'll find mango and the like.

I have a cupboard full of different flavourings. The rose is lovely and I mix it into my yogurt with some cocoa to make turkish delight flavour. The pitaschio is very good too, but I really love the passionfruit one. I got mine on ebay - more expensive than swedish connections, but they stock the passionfruit. I have also got banana, and lemon ( from M and s, it was pricey but is so concentrated and the taste is marvellous). Also use the proper vanilla extract, and love the coconut.

What are you going to put the Rose one in Dub?

Somebody mentioned Turkish Delight the other day and it got me thinking! :D
I'll try it in a yoghurt or perhaps even in a mixture of half strawberry/half gelatine for a jelly. I may have to buy a Fry's TD for research purposes.

And there you go! Thanks, Tessa - it must have been your post I saw. :)
