Hiya!

My Name is Jessica, ive got another thread which i started when i started the diet nine weeks ago in he food diarys section, but found that i didnt like writing my food down online as well as using my tracker sheet hahaa, probably just laziness! but i did quite like writing a diary about my weightloss and weekly weigh ins and loved the support. now nine weeks on, a stone lighter, im back ! :)

i have just had a lovely week off with my boyfriend, (and a week off weightwatchers!) i had a weigh in in the middle of the week, i wasnt going to go because i knew i put on, but i made myself go as i knew i would never get back on track otherwise!! i was right.. 2lb gain, so i was back to 11.9 (still dead on a stone loss)
i didnt go like too mad on the week, it was my sisters 16th birthday on the bank holiday monday and i couldnt resist some of the food, she had a massive birthday party and it was so much fun, plus i didnt do all too much exersicce to be honest! soent most the week shopping! and went to the beach :) i didnt have anyhting silly, but had a few subways and a couple of meals out, which was nice, it was lovely to have a week off and enjoy myself anf not have to worry about counting for a bit.

now its monday again, adn im back at work, (was so silly and didnt realise i wasnt suooised to be back untill tomorrow! but never mind! it was surprising how easy it was yto jump straight back on the wagon and i am now back on track, a bit worried about weigh in on wednesday as i will have the rest of last week to deal with, but whatever wil;l be will be, i am back on track 100% now and thats all that matters! :)

so i'll tell you a bit about me, i am 19, and an IT Technician apprentice, about to study a part time degree in computing, (after completing my 3 year apprenticeship. i still live with my mum and sister, and see my dad alot and speak to him every day. this was where my weight problem started, my parents split up about a year ago now, and i know i was 18, and i should of handled it better, it really shook me up and i was upset for months, well still am to be honest and when i feel upset i comfort eat. ive never reallyy got over my parents splitting, and i still get upset tht my mum may have a new boyfriend or something so i try to keep myself to myself, to be honest i would prefr to not know and to be oblivious, i know it shounds childish, but i have bad anxiety so i need to stay as calm as i can. or i end up making myself ill!

i have a lovely group of freinds, my best friend izzy who is really supportive and we go on walks and jogs together almost every eveing, and my guy best freind Alex, always listens to me moan and supports me through everything, my couple friends, Hannah and David, who are lovely, and we catch up with them quite a lot with my lovely boyfriend James, who i have been with for 4 years now, he is amazing and a perfect boyfriend, he takes the mick out of my dieting someitmes and makes a joke of it, but at the end of the day he will always support me and back me up 100% percent :) so i already have a lovely support network, but its nice on here to have people who are going through the same things, and who i can relate to,

my start weight was 11s9lbs, and now my weight 9 weeks on is 10st9lbs. so im really happy! ive got my 10%...well i did have, as last week i was 10.7! so i need to shift thoes 2lbs i put on last week!

but back on track now! need to set myself some mini goals, and sort myself out! i'd love to lose another stone by my 20th birthday, so thats my new goal :) to get to 9.9 by 18th december 2011 :)

please comment and share any ideas that you could give me, and things that i could try to boost my weightloss? :)

thank you very much!
thank you for listening to my rambles!!

hi jessie

well done on weight loss so far!:) your goal is totally do-able:) Follow the weight watchers programme to the letter-do your food tracker, count your exercise points (try building them up to 28 eventually) and drink lots of water and you will get there! Plan your meals in advance if you're going away (bring cereal bars/fruit/salad/sandwich etc) so you're still in control x

Hi DietGirl!

thank you so much for your post! really helps! i was being so good before last week! hopefully now i can get back on track! i did well yesterday! but snacked a little in the eve! but it was all within points! think i need to eat a little more healthily, the only veg i actually like is peas, carrots, and babycorn lol! i hate salad. which is where i have a problem, because its quite hard to bulk out my food?
also i have a maaassive addiction to diet coke!! i hate normal coke, but i absolutly love diet coke! i do drink a lot of water but i think i need to cut down on the fizzy! hahaa :)
i did go through a phase of being good on the wii fit and doing it everyday but i havent been on there for 10 days now! but i have been out jogging and things with my friend, forn about 2 hours, but your right i do need to do more activity! i think its a bit hard, as i get up at 4:30am, and leave for work at 6:30, i am still learning to drive, so i get 2 trains to work, then ive got a half hour walk uphill to work (good for burning calories so i dont mind!) and then i work from 8:4:30, then walk back down the hill, then get another 2 trains home, which are usually delayed, and by the time i get home its usually 7pm and all i wanna do is watch eastenders and go to bed! hahaa :) so i have been a bit lazy! deffo need to start getting more active, could always go for a walk in my lunch hour or something too!
i love the planning in advance thing!! another confession... i rarley cook... well to be honest i dont really have a lot of time, or the energy to, so at the moment i have been sticking to the weightwatchers meals... which are nice! and already have the points on so makes it a bit easier! and its quick! usually starving when i get home! but i would love to try some recipies! my boyfriends mum is on weightwatchers too... (shes tiny! no need for it!) and shes made some of the recipies for me when ive come over for tea and things and its so nice having a proper meal!
my mum is on weightwatchers too, but she is a care assistant in an old peoples home, and she works funny hours too, so not home till very late sometimes so its hard for her to cook when she gets home!

there is so much more i could do! its just making sure i have the time, and once i start back at college i should finish fairly early one day a week and have a study day aswell so that i have time to do my assignments! so i will be at home then, so perfect time to give cooking a go!....... me+cooking=disaster waiting to happen! lol! :)

i hope i do reach my birthday goal!! my actual goal is to get down to 8st! but im not sure if thats a realistic goal weight or not really?i'd love to be 8st!!!

thank you!! :) xxx

what height are you? Weight watchers will usually recommend its members staying within a BMI of 20-25 as it's easier to maintain, but a BMI of 18.5-24 is fine:) 8stone sounds fine, pretty realistic if you stick to weight watchers:)

I need to build up to 28 exercise points myself so I know what it's like lol! Of course you can get back on track, if you have a blip, don't beat yourself up, just go back to the programme asap:)

Stir fries are really tasty and easy to make-you can buy the packs in the supermarket. I prefer chopping my own veg because the taste is better imo:) If I was making a stir fry for myself, I'd stick in quarter an onion, garlic clove crushed (I like garlic but if you don't, use less or leave out), fry that on a pan/wok until it's soft. Then add in your meat-I like chicken or quorn chicken pieces personally, cook that for a few min, then add in some chopped peppers, mushrooms, some baby sweetcorn or sweetcorn, bok choy, mangetout and then add some soy sauce..you can really bulk it out with veg. You can serve with noodles or rice if you like too:)

Frozen veg are good if you're stuck for time..I eat a lot of fish so you could buy some frozen fish and put some lemon and dill on them, wrap in tin foil and put in oven..Salmon takes 30 min in the oven but smaller fish like plaice will take slightly less time.

Herbs and spices are really good at making vegetables taste if you're not a fan..you could do ratatouille, or roast some vegetables like peppers, red onion, aubergine, butternut squash, carrots in oregano and rosemary..soo good! Baked beans with a potato is always good too. My friend showed me that you can bake a potato in the microwave in 2 min, just wrap it in kitchen towel and put a cross at the top or else there'd be too much steam.

Yup diet coke is seriously addictive, I had to just stop drinking it.

I'd focus on one habit at a time and then after about 3 weeks, work on another habit. It's easier rather than trying to do it all at once! x

Hiya!

i'm 5ft 1" so im quite short! hahaa :) i would love to be 8st so thats my ultimate goal at the mo i think!!

yeah, getting back on track is quite hard, but i got my weightwatchers meeting tonight, so i will see the damage last week has done! haha! i plan to just enjoy today after my weigh in at 6:30, my bet friend is going back to uni on saturday so we are going to go to pizza express tonight and have a couple of drinks after, and then thats it for me! back to weightwatchers and perfect tracking from tomorrow morning! i cant wait to be honest!!

thank you for the recipies! i love the sound od that stirfry!! i might try that at the weekend!! :)

you know i said i might have more time to cook when i go back to college/uni?! well... my one day at cpollege which was always short is now 9am-6:30pm! so i wont get home till around 8:30pm! so not tooo fun!! but i will work around it! :)

yeah! exercise i find, is hard to start but once your doing it its not too bad!! i will start back on wii fit tomorrow evening aswel, and try for a really good loss for next wednesdayy!! i want to aim to do some sit ups in the evenings before bed too!

i am feeling really nervous about my weightwatchers meeting tonight!! just want to get my weigh in done and over with!!! might buy some stuff from the little shop there to help with this week, i really want the pedometer as it tells you the amout of activity points youve earned! but its £16.45!! which is quite expensive for that i think!!

sorry its a bit of a short reply! im just about to go to my nan and grandads house for a little bit before weigh in! :)

i'll be back later to let you know the damage!!! :)

thank you so much for your help and suppoirt! means a lot!

Hiya!

how are you? :)

so, last night was my weigh in, and i did put on 0.5lbs. which is a lot better than i thought, so thats fine with me! then i went to pizza express and had a nice pizza and garlic bread, so now im completely done with my week off weightwatchers and back on track for 100% week! :)

anyone know the points for boots shapers items? i forgot my eat out book today! and as i was late for work, i didnt get to make lunch so i bought a shapers chicken fajita pasta salad which is 307 calories and shapers choc flavoured wafers which is 98 calories... so a bit unsure on points?

thank you! :)

NEW TARGET WEIGHT

Hi!

Ive changed my mind about my ultimate goal of 8st! my friend and i were watching supersize v superskinny last night, and a girl was 5"1 and (she was undereight) and the doctor told her her ideal weight for her height is between 7 and a half stone!!! couldnt believe it! so 8st will still be classed as overweight!!

so my new goal is 100lbs!!!

xxx

im good hun:) nah 8stone isn't overweight for a 5'1 person..I'm between 5'1 and 5'2 (i just round up to 5'2) so I know lol:)

If you're 8stone, your BMI would be about 20/21 which is totally ok (you can be 18.5-24 on the BMI scale), 7stone would be about 18 or 19 BMI i would guess? So either/or is good basically.

Oh a 0.5lb gain is nothing, you'll get that off no bother!:) I did weight watchers before they introduced propoints so I've no idea..I would guesstimate that the chicken fajita is 7 propoints (it would've been 3 or 4 on the old programme and they seem to just have multiplied everything by 2!), the chocolate wafers prob about 3 propoints (1.5 on old programme) but check it up though, thats a guess!

Morning!!

ahhh pheeww!! i was worried then!as much as i would love to, i dont think i can get myself down to 7st!! hahaa :)
thank you for that!! your right on both points! i double checked my eat out book when i got home from work :)

i hope i shift that half a pound this week! ive been good! but hd a bit of a falling ou with the boyfriend last night which caused me to use 7 weekly points! which is abit annoying1 i have to control my comfort eating!!

are you still on weightwatchers? how do you find it? i used to do slimming world, and only lost 9lbs, i think i ate waaayy too much carbs, and wheras it did keep me full and you can eat so mucn "free" food, i didnt have the time for preperation and didnt have the patience! hahaa :)

xxxx

Yeah I'm finding weight watchers good-I just use their "simply filling" technique because I'm not a fan of counting points! I've heard of people losing a lot of weight on slimming world so it seems good. Their recipes look yummy! :p I think I'm too used to weight watchers now though! x

Hiya!

yeah i love weightwatchers!! i do really enjoy the food most of the time! and the meetings give me a lot of motivation! how are you today?

just started cooking my babycorn :) hehe. got sooo much work to do before i start my degree in a couple of weeks! bought my notepads down and sat here with intention to learn some programming languages but cant be bothered now! hahaa :)

i went out ooto meet my 2 friends last night at a bar, i only had a couple of bacardi and DIET cokes :) and pointed them, so i think it was fine :)

i feel really motivated for the diet today for some reason!! which is a good thing!! not much planned for today really, stayed at my boyfriends last night, and planned to revise and exercise today ( i will get my bum on the wii fit later!) but dont feel that motivated with revision!!
had a nice shower, and wait for the boyfriend to come back round when he finishes work at 10pm! hes an electrician, but has a part time job at tesco too which he does some evenings. so i will watch some telly and casualty and wait for him to come back!

going to be quite a few boring weekends now, most of my friends have gone back to uni now, so not that much to do, so i have to get on with exercise to keep me occupied! haha :)

right im going to start the rest of my tea! im having, babycorn (loooots of it!) chicken, and weightwatchers sweet and sour sauce :)

will check in later :) :p

Hiya!

happy monday!
how are you?

so i have been perfect on the diet today!! i dont know whats come over me but ive been so good! no snacking atal! probably because im not feeling too great, feel VERY tiered and a bit like i have a cold coming, which isnt good!! but im off tomorrow so i can have a bit of a relax, maybe that will make me feel abit better.

i even turned down a lunch out with work today! i would of gone and pointed it but i just dont really feel that well and its so cold and windy out today!! so i thought i would stay in the nice warm office!! and ive been good! which is good! :)

cant wait to go home now tho just wanna have a bath and relax to ne honest! hate feeling ill! all ive got in my drawer here is ibuprofen whih hasnt done much good!

missing my best freind loads, she went back to London to her new house for uni yesterday and we were both really upset last night, missing her like mad! and it will be a couple of months until i can see her again :( but we txt and call all the time, but i miss her sooooo much, as usually we see eachother every day when shes home!!!

how is everyone on their diet today?
2 days until my weigh in! :( im not looking forward to it! havent weighed myself at home to check so far this week! im a bit too scared since the last 2 weeks of lbs on!

hope everyone is well, what did you do at the weekend?

jess xxxx

aw are you sick? :( yeah a bath sounds lovely, hot water bottle in bed is always good too :) the chicken and sweetcorn with the sauce sounds lovely, nice start to cooking!!! :D

once you weigh in, you'll know where you're at now and can keep going forward :)

my weekend was quiet enough, shopping saturday yay! was at this coffee shop yday with family and had a bit of a scone and jam not too bad cause i didn't eat the whole scone but omgg the jam was runny, it actually slid off the scone lol

Hiya!

still got the sniffles! hahaa, i hate feeling ill! just got a cold i think! :(.
yeah it was nice to finally get home!! i had aday off yesterday which was nice!! spent the day with my friend Abbey, we watched films and had a good catch up, though i was there for lunch and she cooked a really nice BBQ pizza, but i didnt eat too much of it, i did eat some though, to be poilete it was nice! but i didnt really eat too much after that! so fingers crossed its fine!

weigh in tonight! soooo nervous already!!! but you are right, at least i will know where i am now, and now my frame of mind is back i should be 100% again next weeK!!

oooh the scone sounds lush!!!! haha! yum!!!

do you treat yourself after weigh in? im not sure whether i should or not, i used to when i was on slimming world as you couldnt really have chocolate and tyhings, but i find on weightwatchers i can have a treat but keep within my daily and weeklies !

xxxx

I'm not doing the propoints, I did WeightWatchers before successfully with their Core plan-dunno if you know it?:) With that, I get a food list that I can eat from and 21 optional old WW points for treats. Don't really treat myself after weigh in but I do use my 21 optional points for things like cheese, bread, tomato ketchup which arent on the food list..mmm yumm :) ooh well done on the weight loss hun! x

Hiya!
oh cool!! ive never heard of the core plan! is it eeasy to follow?
thank you! :) i was quite glad! means im back on track now! so thats fine! i was chatting to my weightwatchers leader yesterday and she is going to let me borrow her copy of 30 day shred! so will give that a go next week!! have you tried it?
ive seen so many good reviews so cant wait to give it a go!

xxx

Well I like Core because I love cooking from scratch but if you don't like cooking/don't have enough time to cook, you'd probably struggle on it. There's 21 optional points (prob 42 on the new plan, you would have to ask your leader about that to make sure) to spend on treats each week.

Points is good if you like flexibility and just want to eat a bit of everything in moderation. Core is good if you like eating from a set list of food each week and having the optional 21 points each week to dip into for things like bread or alcohol or social occasions. It is a little bit like Slimming World I think, it's based on low GI diet. The low GI diet basically involves eating food low in energy density (a lot of food with a lot of water in them) which are really filling so you tend to eat less. I can eat fresh fruit but dried fruit and/or fruit juice will cost me optional points as the dried fruit has a higher energy. Core doesn't make you measure portions but I do anyway. You can have cereal only once a day, and rice/potato only once a day. Core says to only eat when you're hungry and stop when full, they have a hunger scale to teach you how to do this.

I need to earn activity points the same as anyone on points as part of the core.

If I needed more flexibility-eg if I was going on holiday or something-then I'd prob switch to points for the week and then switch back to core the next week.

Haven't tried 30 day shred, have heard its great tho!! xx
