is thr any minimum fat whr xenical doesnt work

mostly my meals r around 5g fats so as thinking is thr any minimum fat whr thr is no need of taking xenical ,except 0g :rolleyes:
 
At 5g per meal you will only get rid of a gram and a half, which will be about 13cals. So under 40cal a day through using Xenical, 280cal a week.

You aren't eating enough enough fat. Your body still needs fat to function healthily. Having a few low fat mealshere and there will do no harm, but you can have UP TO 15g for a reason. Be aware that eating too little fat will result in your body going into panic mode and retaining body fat through fear its not getting what it needs from diet.

My meals tend to average between 10g and 15g quite regularly.

If these figures are right then it would take 15 weeks for xenical to help you lose an extra lb, which is always an extra lb but hardly noticeable in the grand scheme of things. You do need some fat, it's true, maybe you should ask your doctor's advice. If you are sticking to ultra low fat maybe ther's no point taking a tablet you don't need. Don't stop it without your doctor's advice though!
 
Xen stops a third of dietary fat passing into your body. If you eat 12g of fat that would be 4g of fat. At 9cal per gram, thats 36cal of fat gone from that meal. So if you round down to 35 thats about 105 cal a day. About 700 - 750 a week up to around 2800 to 3000ish a month. Add that to following a healthy diet and (hopefully) exercising and you can see why it is called a weightloss 'aid'. Most of the weight we lose over time is from our own hard work - xenical just helps us along the way.

I take xenical but i act as if i dont otherwise i may start to make excuses about pucking at foods because 'the xenical will compensate'. Big no no lol
 
Oops - yes did the sums wrong - so just over a month to drop an extra lb. Seems more worth it. I do get the using xenical to make sure you keep making the right choices thing, I guess it makes you avoid high fat stuff. I've never tried it but when I finish with my vlcd and move to ww or sw it certainly will be worth considering if I need an extra push. Take care.
 
Oops again - I obviously have foot-in-mouth disease today lol! Actually my mother is a slimming world evangelist too. She hates that I do a vlcd and is desperate for me to do a 'real' diet and start slimming world. Hee hee!
 
You do whatever suits you best :) you have all the time in the world to try other methods further down the line. Slimming world is great though lol i do love it :)
 
Xenical only works with fat, so if you're not eating it there is little point using Xenical..I think you should have a look at what you're eating and maybe make some decisions..if would sooner eat very low fat as that suits you, you're probably just as well coming off the Xenical, if you can eat foods with higher amounts of fat then stick with the Xenical and start to try new foods. It all depends on what you like to eat. :)

its been 2 weeks i havent had ny pasta coz i am afraid these carbs ill hit on me

Wow. Ok spend an hour or two reading the minims forum. You need to educate yourself on foods and what to have and what to avoid. Educating yourself is the best way forward there's just too much to put in one thread. Also stop stressing about it, stress can cause weight issues!
 
There is so much useful information on this site alone from everyone on here who is taking xen. Read a few of the diarys too uptop they help and also just do a search on the internet it comes up with loads of stuff. I wouldnt started taking xen till i know fully what to do else youd just be walking into a mindfield for trouble (tangoed and so on). Just take some time out and read as much as you can, plus there are so many helpful people on here who have out on so much information for us to use.

First of all, there is no need to be scared..and stop comparing yourself to others...right now! stop it!

Everyone is different,and we loose weight differently, we're all different shapes and sizes to start off with, we may have the same bits inside, but we all work different... forgetting about everyone else, you have to do what's right for you.

If you stick to the rules of Xenical, you will be fine, the chances of having any reaction will be slim to none. I think you've been overwhelmed by everything and got yourself in a bit of a mess. I think the best thing you can do is start again, this time forget about calories and forget about carbs, just concentrate on the fat and the fat only.

(when I first started Xenical, I watched my fat levels and that was it, I paid no attention to the carbs and cals, Ilost 5 stone this way. Another girl here did the same, just watching fat levels and lost 17, there are a few others too)

It does work out that if you stick to the fat rules, and have your fat allowance, because you're eating healthy your calories will be ok, but forget about the cals for now.

If you want to eat pasta then eat it, just use the fat rules along side of it, or you could switch to a brown pasta and not white, brown and wholemeals are complex carbs and are better for us, but if you want to have a chicken pasta salad then have it.

It is important that you eat 3 good meals a day and if you want snacks, have them.. fat free yoghurt, bits of fruit, crisp breads with extra light mayo and beetroot I used to eat 4-6 at a time. If you want snacks then you apply the rules and make good choices, but you must eat 3 good meals.

Breakfast..cereals and toast is a good one, or porridge, have a good breakfast it sets you up for the day, kicks starts your metabolism and if you have a good breakie, like wholegrains or porridge these are gi foods and release energy slowly which are much better at balancing your blood sugar.

Lunch, chicken pasta salads, or have a huge plate of salad with cooked cold chicken or ham strips, beans on toast, soups (mug shots are great)

Dinner... nothing beats some sliced potato mixed with one cal spray tossed with mixed herbs and whacked in a roasting tray :)

Doctors, what do they know really... I've yet to meet one dish out these pills and give people some sound advice, if it wasn't for the support I got from Mini's I wouldn't be here now....and lets face it, we know what's right for us as individuals.

Use www.myfitnesspal.com if you need help with totting up your food, it does help. Take no notice of the cals and carbs just focus on the fat, give it 2 weeks and see how you go at the end of it. You do have to relax, getting wound up and worried will make things worse...relax and embrace the new you :)

Oh, I've noticed you don't have a food diary... You really should do one...it's proven that people who keep a recird of their food do better than people who don't..start a food diary in the diary section, write everything you eat, how you feel etc and we can help :)

i cried today bcoz of me not going anywhr
well thr r few qs still in my mind

if i eat cereals n toasts, tht adds around 3gs of fat but as many pointed out, this is too low for xenical to work
same goes with my lunch, if i take slim fast shake, its around 4g
(thts wat i picked from mandy's diary) or even salad
this is really confusing me

If you had say cornflakes with milk and toast this would give you around 5gs in total, which is ok, add some juice to that and it bumps it up a bit more. Have a proper lunch and a proper dinner, have a couple of snacks and take your Xenical with the 3 main meals and it will be ok.

I know you're still a bit confused but that's because you're reading too much into things, and getting worked up.

I would suggest that you stopped worrying about things being too much and not enough and just follow the rules and eat.

A typical day when I started.. I had cereals or porridge with toast and maybe a yoghurt or I'd add some raisins and sultanas. Then I'd have snack, maybe a yoghurt or crisp breds with mayo, or cottage cheese or beetroot on. Then I'd had lunch, soup and bread or beans on toast or pitta bread filled up with salad and a pasta salad. Then for dinner I'd have a spag bol meal, or a cottage pie, sweet and sour and I always bulked it out with veg or a jacket potato with beans. I'd always have a oudding after lunch and dinner, in the evenings when watching tv I'd have snack a jacks.

When you add everything up it really adds up and it work

I promise you, if you make sure all the foods you have are under 5g's per 100grams and no more than 15g's per meal I PROMISE you will loose weight and it will work.
