Old Clothes

After slimming down a bit and dropping to smaller clothes, what should I do with the old ones?

I reckon I should throw them away on the basis that I'm telling myself I'll never need them again. However, I've been wrong in the past:cry:

What do you do?

Dont through them away, give them to charity or try to sell them eg ebay or carboot sale, that way you will have some money to buy new ones! :)

There is a sticky thread on here called clothes exchange - post what you don't want anymore & if people want it they will pay for postage.

I have put some stuff on it, got some stuff on it too.

I've also ebayed some stuff & made about £60!

And have charity shopped a few things too.

The only stuff i have thrown out is underwear for obvious reasons & even then all my old bras went to the air ambulance appeal (dunno what they planned to with them tbh!)

Definitely give ebay a go. I put a few things on ebay last night & have made £85 so far with a couple of items still being bid on. I have used the money to invest in a garmin forerunner to help me with my running (& hopefully shrink a bit more)

Those pieces were from monsoon but I'm planning on putting other everyday things on too as every little counts. Anything that doesnt sell will be donated to the local charity shop.

I'd go with eBay too. I've sold loads of clothes and have made a lot of money. It's mainly all high street stuff nothing designer. Next, river island, oasis etc... All really popular. The money will help towards getting a fab new wardrobe.

All of my old clothes will be going to charity shops or to my mum to sell at car boot sales for charity. I did consider selling the decent stuff on Ebay but really don't have the time to be running to the Post Office all the time - my nearest Post Offices to home and work both require driving, so would probably spend anything I earnt on fuel anyway!

I am currently fitting back into some of my old clothes that I kept hold of as I knew we were planning on joining SW. Other than those I don't plan on buying any new clothes for a while, as I plan on shifting quite a few more pounds yet and don't want to waste money on clothes that only fit for a matter of weeks. Work clothes I have plenty of the old stuff that now fits. Casual around home stuff, then my joggers, etc, will just have to make do for now, even if it requires a safety pin in the waist!

As soon as anything gets too big to carry on wearing it goes into a bin bag ready to take for my mum... not having larger clothes still there means I'll be more likely to keep the weight I have already lost off!

For every 1lb I have lost, I have put £5 away in a jar towards my new wardrobe once I reach target, and plan on continuing with it - if I get to the target weight I currently plan, I will have just under £300 to spend!

The only thing i will be keeping is a pair of old jeans to remind me never to get back in them again!

I've bagged my clothes up that are too lose now and taken them to the charity shop. I don't want to gain the weight again and the bit of money they make can go to a good cause :)

HPxx

Saving £5 for every pound lost is a fab idea!!

I figured it was a good way of getting some money together for when I get to target/happy weight and need to have a clothes buying splurge!

Plus, should I have a week where I put on then I don't take the money back out of the pot, it stays there, and gets put in again when I loose whatever I put back on, if that makes sense?

Do you attend a group meeting? If you do why not suggest a clothes swap. We all take in our old stuff to swap and if we take something home then we put 50p into the charity box we have in aid of the local hospice (along with all the 5p pieces change from the weekly fee). Then at the end of the meeting someone takes everything to the hospice charity shop.
