Well after having an alcohol blowout this weekend, resulting in a 3lb gain and being kicked out of ketosis. i have decided to start a diary to keep me focused

Todays food has been

B. half a chicken breast,wrapped in bacon and stuffed with garlic and philly (leftovers from last night) with 1oz cheese

L. prawns, salad and 1 tbsp hellmans mayo

S. 1 pepperami and 1 cheesestring

D. cheeseburger (no bun), kale with mushrooms and a butter/cream sauce (1oz cream)

S. Chicken/bacon/philly breast

2 coffees
4x500ml bottles water

I've eaten loads today as i feel so hungry and i'm not happy with the cheese and cream creeping back in to my diet but until i get back into ketosis, it's taking all my willpower not to slap a couple slices of white bread into the toaster :(

It's nice to have my menu looked over as i'm still not 100% sure i'm doing it right sometimes. Atkins is the most complicated diet i've ever done...it is also the most enjoyable, so i don't mind really

Todays menu is pretty much same as yesterdays... just call me Mrs Variety lol.

L. Prawn salad with mayo
S. cheesestring
D. Cheeseburger,kale,mushrooms and butter/cream sauce

I will probably have a small snack for supper.

Cheeseburgers (made with 200g mince and 1oz grated cheese)

large handful of curly kale, steamed.

3oz mushrooms, fried in butter then 1oz of cream added to make a sauce.
 
Yum! that plate looks deeeelish!

Imso as Susie says, best to eat loads until you get into ketosis as it will stop you looking for carbs!

Agree that looks good - making me hungry and just had a large dinner lol:D

I've been having scotch eggs for breakfast the last two days. made from eggs, minced pork, pinch of herbs and pepper

I forgot about them in the oven, so they were a bit dry but it was a nice easy breakfast

I'm feeling a little bored of the food at the moment. i think i'm going to add the occasional oxo cube and some tinned tomatoes.

I've also been for the results of my health lifestyle bloodtests today and was told my triglycerides were too high. Not sure if i carry on eating as i am or cut out sat fats (it's mainly butter and coconut oil) and stick to the healthier fats. Nurse just said eat more omega 3 fats
 
Morning imso... How long have you been doing Atkins? You could swap to olive oil, rapeseed oil? Hope you have a good day:)
 
Morning imso, yes I'd switch to OO, though having said that my blood tests improved all the time I was on induction

IMO (plus looking at the scientific evidence, or lack there of) the saturated fats linking to heart disease is a myth

Have your triglycerides increased since pre atkins or is this your first test? I would def eat more omega 3, from fatty fish n flax seed oils for example - but perhaps not eliminate saturated fats and test again in a couple months time to see if there is improvement ?
