How's your experience?

Being of the ripe old age of 77 I joined my local WW meeting and found the actual members quite affable but , altho' the leader seemed nice enough to start with, she continually ignored me. On the first meeting the only time I was included in the group conversation was to say..and I quote.."Emm will now go home and use all her extra 49 points this week."(chuckle)..unquote. To which I quickly interjected that having been on an 800 cal diet so far that, that was very unlikely!
The second meeting she took time to speak individually to each of the four new members that day and also remarked about one gent who was a gold member and had lost 37lbs to get to his target. I piped up that I had lost almost the same before joining WW but was completely ignored!!
Needless to say, I shall not be going back!

some leaders aren't as good as others, you may be better trying a different meeting.

my leader always has half a hour after the meetings for new members,explains things and answers any questions.

I would definitely try a different meeting, if you don't 'gel' with the leader, she's not going to inspire you. And well done for taking the plunge, don't let this put you off, the classes can be very motivating if you get a good leader, good luck with it!

i agree if possible try another meeting.

My leader always includes everyone in the 'chat' & always spends 30 minutes at the end of the session with all new members or going through trackers with regulars etc.
She also emails & sends us txt messages during the week to keep us on track & motivated.

But I do know that the other meeting that is held in my village by a different leader is totally different & very 'cliquey' & she only discusses her holidays/life etc! xx

i really get on well with my leader .... but i would try a different group if you don't like yours as their not going to motivate you if they don't really speak to you ..... or if you don't have another local group just go and weigh in and get your motivation here
