Rings

I was just wondering how much people are spending on their rings? I personally didnt just want a standard band, but i wanted one without stones and in gold. I found a really lovely one with Bliss rings which is £290. I was fine (well lets just say i would have paid it) until my nan went "oooo, thats a lot" and now she has put me off. I just cant find what i want anywhere else. Do you think its too much money to spend and should i look for something different. Im just in 2 minds now grrr x

My wedding band is £490 but my engagment ring was only £50 second hand. I think you need to think that you are going to be wearing this ring for the reat of your life so wouldnt you rather it be something you love than something you settled for?? X

Well I usually say to myself in so many years time, will I think oh I shouldn't have spent that on a ring or will I think well I wish I had had that ring as I really liked it. If you love it then have it I'd say. Good luck!

I don't think that is a lot to spend on a wedding ring at all. I am looking at having mine and OH made specially for us, and intend to spend about £500 each. Basically the honeymoon and rings are the part I would more on. The honeymoon is part of our special memories and the ring is the symbol and reminder of our marriage to us and everyone else.

I am only spending about £150 max on the dress as that's something I will only wear once.it depends what the priority is for your day.

Thanks ladies. I feel better about it now and you have put it in perspective. Its something that I intend to wear everyday and im hoping for a long and happy marriage lol. Ill order it tomorrow :) x

My wedding ring is £300 and my OH his ring is £250. I think it is each to your own, but if that is the ring you have fallen for don't let anyone put you off it as you will be wearing it for the rest of your life and want to look at in years to come and still love it. It is a decision for you and your OH and no one else should really have a say in it even if they are family members.

Were spending £800 on both £425 for OH and £375 for mine. Way over budget but they are the ones we love and might as well buy ones we like than regret not getting them after x

Mine is £99 and my OH's is £150ish, just so happens that neither of us want something fancy.

I have a really classic engagement ring so just want a plain band to go with it.

Plus we're using tesco vouchers to pay lol :)

I think it's down to personal preference. I'm getting married in 7 weeks. My wedding ring cost £159 & my H2B's cost £45! He didn't want anything too much (he's not a jewellery person).
I think it goes for rings as much as anything related to a wedding as, if you like it & can afford it get it! :D

Thanks all. I ordered mine the other day and paying over a couple of months. Going to pick up H2B's tonight, hope he likes it. I feel better now that i got what i wanted. Like everyone has said, i have to be happy with it as i will have it a long time. Its strange how we all choose different things as in years gone by people just went for bands. Hope you are all enjoying your wedding planning x
