Does anyone think that if you have a jar of sunblushed tomatoes in olive oil , that if you por boiling water on them and rinse off all the oil, they would be free?

I'm not sure, as I'd think they'd have soaked up rather a lot of the oil. I could be wrong though xx

Thats a shame as I have added some to my quiche, was very nice, but now I will have to allow syns, but think they were worth it as the flavour was very strong even though I cut them into small pieces.

I use sundried tomatoes - you can get them in a packet in Tesco, I rehydrate them then use them in quiches or pasta. They add such a rich flavour.

Will buy them next time its just I had these ones and wanted to use them up, as I said I believe the small amount of syns was worth it, are the ones you use 'free'?

This discussion encouraged me to check on the SW website... bad news... :(

100g sun-dried in oil, drained - 11 1/2 syns!!!!
100g sun-dried no added oil - 4 syns

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!!

Its one of those funny ones, I understand the ones in oil, you wouldnt really use 100g anyway as it a lot, but wonder if the other ones are before rehydrating or after? . I havent had any other syns today so did allow 4 for what I had as in my book it said 2.5 for 28g. Thanks for looking it up.
