America ruined me.....

Hi guys!

I'm Andy, 25. and looking a bit chubby around the sides... a Little back story to get to today:

I went to New Zealand at the end of last year. I was lucky enough to meet an amazing American girl. So after mine and her visa expired in NZ, I went home saved my money up and went to America to spend the summer with her in the US. The 3 months were amazing, and I kind of let myself go and enjoyed myself. As the weeks went on I noticed the weight was sitting more and more on, I was getting really self conscious going to the beach.. and then my clothes were alot tighter, tshirts were sitting tightly.

I arrived home this morning 1 stone 5 pounds heavier then I was before I left. I am going back out to America October 20th (That is my goal date) so in this time I need to lose the weight I put on (and maybe a little more) So I feel better about myself while being with her. I have no idea where to start or what to do, so i will be searching through this site to help my cause.

Any help you guys can offer along the way would be amazing (Firstly how do I get one of those Goal counters at the bottom of my posts?)

I feel keeping this will give me a reason to write things down, apologies that it will take up space on your site!!

So this jet lag thing is really taking its toll.. After my afternoon nap yesterday it has been a sleepless night. I felt so awake the whole time. Had my duvet watching tv on the couch to get comfy but this was no help. So come 6am i thought... Lets be productive!

I ran... I've only gone and ran!! I have not gone out of my way to run in about 3 years, and that was a one time thing. It was pure agony... I got to the end of my road, which is about 200metres and felt like I was coming to the end of the London Marathon. Now I feel great and have more energy. It was a well intervalled run, but in the middle of the walking patches there was some fast forward motion. When I got in all I could think about was going on the scales... No Andy! Its not how it works! I feel this could be a regular occurance....

Things are moving in the right direction!

lol, i'm really bad at running- i ran round block with out stopping- not far really. but i was like, wow i ran all the way without stopping. People said yeah- its only round the block. - it was like a marathon to me!

Aw u met whilst traveling? Met my bf traveling ( turned out he lived 10mins away from me back at home, had even been in the pub where i worked- ut met other side of world) , got pregnant and got confy- 4 stone and a baby later. I'm on this site.

Good luck!!!

it must have been so easy to gain weight while in america..some of the portions there are mind blowing..but so tasty!

Thanks for the good words.

Yeah this whole long distance relationship is hard but definately worth it so will happily make the effort!

The hardest thing that I can see is the weekends and drinking with friends. Its kind of a peer pressure situation and I know that beer is the biggest issue, for me at least. Jeans that use to be comfortable and I use to wear because they were big are now 'fitted'. It really gets you down and then its tough that its not coming off straight away!

but we will persevere!
