Original Old Red and Green Syn-a-Day

Hello, a newby here, just planning my diet.
I have an old Green Sin-a-Day book - I'm a lacto vegetarian so don't need the red one. I lost some weight many years ago using this book. I live in The Netherlands so would have to join online but just lost my job so don't really want to if I can avoid it.
Anyway, after all that my question is; do the new SW books differ hugely from the Original ones? I see all sort of abbreviations HE A + B and don't know what they mean.

Those of you more experienced in SW, do you think just using the old Green Book (from about 1993) would be substantially different from the new system?

Thanks for any advice.

I would imagine the basics would be the similar altho the specifics ie Healthy extras and syn value would be different. You have free foods, HEa and HEb(2 of each) and 5-15 syns a day. It would be worth looking on eBay if you want an new(er) book. There is tons of info on this site tho so you may not need a book :) im pretty certain there is a thread somewhere-possibly in the 'sticky' part of the forum-Which tells you all about the plan :)
Good luck x

I am a veggie too and follow the plan , so if I can help with anything just ask. Dont know if the books have changed much but would have thought so as yours is 20 years old haha. I would get one form ebay, there is one here that seems cheap enough.

The basics are the same but syn values and free foods are massively different. This site can give you loads of info if you have a browse.

Hi Eye6769, I just bought a set from ebay! Thanks for the advice.
Hi Beegee, I'm just getting grips with how much info there is on this site. It's amazing!

Thanks both.
